Tomb Raider 2 Movie

Resident Evil II has to be made - it had the whole ominous person walking in front of the camera and the disappearing man. Not to mention an entire town just taken over by the zombies.

I saw on E! or somewhere about a jet ski scene that was the first shot back in October, maybe. Blah blah blah.

 

Was AOTC one of 'em?

If you think it was crap, then sure.

 

Ok. Ain't It Cool News got a look at 1st Trailer. Here is the description --

Finally at the Paramount booth I saw the full theatrical preview for ?Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.? The title?s even more unwieldy than ?Star Wars, Episode Whatever?? It is narrated in the beginning, not by Mr. Voice, but by an African tribesman, who describes a rumored place that holds the source of all life and death. Then it cuts to Lara, riding horseback and practicing her aim with a rifle. Then a helicopter flies overhead and she heads back to her mansion.

Someone asks Lara if this source of life and death is Pandora?s Box. She says, ?That?s the Sunday school version,? and throws a knife right at a book of Greek mythology. Somebody talks about how it could be turned into an extremely powerful weapon and how the Queen wants her to go find it. So she does, and the preview turns into a kind of action montage.

There is a shot of her jumping her motorcycle off a wall onto a dirt road below.

There is a shot of her doing a kind of spiral flip on a jet ski.

There is a very brief shot of some of the terracotta warriors being hacked up in a fight and another one of Lara on the roof of a cave. This must be that rotating set that was mentioned in the earlier set report.

There is a scene (the rumored sex scene), where Jolie is making out with some guy in bed, but she handcuffs him to the post and backs away. She is still wearing a nightgown in the scene, so I wouldn?t get your hopes up about any nudity.

There is a kind of orb made out of amber that glows and turns into a map for finding the Cradle of Life.

There is a cool part where she and another guy jump off of a huge building without parachutes, but the jumpsuits they are wearing have flaps that inflate, so they turn into these ?flying squirrel? type of things and glide away.

The last thing I remember about the preview was that there were several shots of Lara in action, moving the way only a video game character could move. I don?t want to say it looked like wirework, though it almost definitely was, but it looked different. Like she would grab onto a pole, swing around it, let go and grab onto a balcony in mid-flight. Very cool moves, much like a video game, but it didn?t look like overly clumsy wirework. It?s kind of hard to describe, but it looked like a pretty good way to have Lara move.

Overall, I thought it looked decent. It helps that I?m a Jan de Bont fan, so I?ll probably be extra generous when I see it. I wasn?t blown away by the preview, but I was interested and I thought it looked good enough to go see. Of course I thought that about the first one, and look at how that turned out. Blech.

I don't know if there is a trailer online, but this is just a Show West stuff. They see it in advance!!!

Don't, I seriously mean, DON'T guess I am very very hyped about this movie.
I am not! Somewhat yes, but not really.

I am hoping it would be good movie, but it's far from my anticipations to All other summer/2003 movies: X-men,Matrix,Lord of Ring 3, Terminator 3, Hero, etc!

It still may be great though, and that's what I hope it will be

 

I hope the actions scenes are better and longer than the other one.

i concur resident evil II should be made, theres so much to explore the ominous guy behind the cam has to be known,and resident evil was better than tombraider.

I got Tomb Raider and I have only seen it once! I had bought it the very first day it came out. The movie sucked! I tought I was expecting a good movie from Angelina Jolie and no, I was wrong! So Im not real excited about this second film. They should of never started making the movies. They should of just sticked with the video games

 

I know what you mean Luke_Skywalker_12 the first one did suck quite a bit. The story was mainly, wow worlds in trouble some orgonization wants evil thing save the world, the end. Thats why they have got a new script writter in for the seccond one.

Angelina Jolie isn't the problem, the plot is, the villian is, and so is the director, but Angelina Jolie is good!

As a mindless Action movie, 1st one was not bad as people say, but people treated it more than a Brainless Action movie, I say that lies the Bigger problem!

How absurd. Any self-respecting film enthusiast knows of Angelina's inability to properly play any role she is given. I have yet to see her pull out one good performance, heck, one half-decent one. She's a stinker, what can I say?

Because they were hoping it would be better than a brainless action movie, which is possible considering the many different storylines they could have chosen. It could have been a good action/adventure film but it just wasn't.

Just like Martin Scorcese should be doing the Star Wars prequels because Lucas is a poopy director? I don't think so.

I would rather Milla Jovovich be in it.

She's AWESOME! I saw her in the Fifth Element. I say she should be Elena in that movie they're making out of that book, Bitten, instead of Angelina Jolie, urgh, Jolie is too masculine, Elena is more feminine that Jolie... Jolie's so masculine, they have to use a GUY for her in Tomb Raider as her stunt double. Behold, Larry Croft!

Cool, this sounds interesting ... I liked the first one. I'll watch this one, even if only out of curiousity .

 

I hope it is better than I expect, which is to say, NOT MUCH.

As you see in this thread, it is NOT even my Top 5; it may NOT even be my top 10, but I hope it makes it.

This trailer is IT, it will be how I judge this movie - SUCK or Good enough to enter Top 10.

Have you ever seen the movie Gia? She was frickin' great in that film. She can most definately act when all is said and done, it's just Tomb Raider is not quite the material that Oscar performances are made of.

Personally, I'm looking forward to another mind numbing Tomb Raider mode. I can't ever get enough Angelina in tight body suits action.

 

I agree Angelina Jolie has Talents, but Tomb Raider 1 didn't gave her too much to work on. (NOT her fault)
