So that is where Kitrep's storyline will continue.

Seems like Lene is Lene Kostana, Sifo-Dyas’ master, now that is an interesting connection. Wonder if there will be a hint why she became so interested with the Sith in her later life.

Liked the usage of special tools in the fight with monster, Witcher-style.

Kip not knowing about the Nihil's occupation for a year is a strange plot point.

Cavan Scott has some interesting behind the scenes info here:

"Ty is having a ball, earning credits by slaughtering monsters and smashing Nihil scav-droids whenever she has a chance. She has no responsibilities and no Jedi breathing down her neck. And where would a monster hunter be without a big ol' monster. Eagle-eyed fans may recognize that tentacled nightmare. It's inspired by concept art designed for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith by Sang Jun Lee. In the comic, we give it a name - a Trilark!"

Though, amusingly, this concept was already given a name - the Sher Kar, which appeared in star wars galaxies on Mustafar. Whoops - guess we got another knobby white spider situation.

We also get some kind of energy flail weapon - I assume that is the plasma mace mentioned in the comic, but it is possible it is not.

Weird looking local species there. No name or anything, but also nice to see some non-humanoids.

Overall a good start, should be interesting to see where things go from here.

Some of the best Nihil outfits' designs are there. Lene herself having visions is quite intriguing, maybe one of them will be regarding the Sith.

I can't believe I didn't clock that Lene in the last issue is Lene Kostana, Syfo-Dias's very own Jedi Master, and needed it literally spelled out for me in issue #3's crawl page.

The species of that green Nihil with the symbol on top of his head seems familiar, but I can't place it...

As for the guy in the cloak...my first thought was the guy that Ty killed in her backstory, but this guy's skin is yellow instead of pink, so nothing is coming to mind...

Basing on his four-fingered hand, he is a character from The Simpsons Ty's master Cibaba.

I forget the species name, if indeed we ever knew what it was, but the big fellow with the mouth tentacles at the end is a great callback. That species showed up now and then in some of the old WEG stuff - I think this may be its first appearance in canon. It's based on early concept art for the Rancor.

Sorry to double post, but a little bit of investigation uncovered the species name I couldn't remember - WEG identified them as Esoomian. The species is prominently represented in Wanted by Cracken by the character "Tantor." The entry there uses the Rancor concept artwork from the Return of the Jedi Sketchbook instead of an original piece, which I thought was interesting.

Ah, interesting. The idea briefly crossed my mind, but I thought the Children of the Storm were made from other force sects and not jedi.

Boolan probably recruited everyone Marchion let him to, maybe Ro once in a while decided not to execute a Jedi.

Good conclusion, even though a rather long-awaited one. Confrontation with Cibaba was intense, hope that he is not the last Jedi that became a member of the Children of the Storm.

I have seen pirates with eyepatches and hook hands before, but the hook eye is certainly new.

But yeah, fun little conclusion to the side story. Felt a bit rushed, but not enough to really spoil things.

At least for a Jedi captive Boolan was creative with the style choice, other Children of the Storm so far lack cool outfits and accessories.

True. Which is odd cause the Nihil, whatever their other faults, are often styling, and manage to have a fairly unique look compared to other star wars pirates and crime syndicates.

On the other hand, Children are an autonomous groupe, consisting of members that were not Nihil before. Although them having outfits basing on the stylistic of the Path of the Open Hand would've been fitting.

Got around to reading the trade.

Good that it picks up the Kitrep Soh strand, as the books had carefully gone around that.

Of greater interest is how the story mixes Yorrick's past and present, depicting flaws that make her a more intriguing character, especially with who the villain of the story and how that resolves.

Apparently, Ty Yorrick will return. I hope LFL and DHC are smart enough to enable that, as the team of Scott and Stott work well together.

Still half expecting the Nihil to reform into the Knights of Ren but I guess we'll see.
