If I recall correctly someone who worked at a bookstore posted back in this thread that they weren't licensed here. I think it was in response to a query about the Galaxies book. I got the Republic Commando book from Amazon US - it's quite good so far.
Jedi Trail is in waterstones Southampton, both of them. Havn't found Hard Contact anywhere yet though, not even Forbidden Planet. russelguppy you live in portsmouth? you should come to the registry on friday nights, i dj a rock night in there. (sorry for the shameless plug) it's either me or my sister who do it, usually me though. we do need more Star Wars fans in there.
So has anyone seen the UK version of the New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology (and has anyone noticed that if you abbreviate it we get NEGTWAT eek!) or the DHC Star Wars Panel to Panel book. I have just about given up in the UK, I won't get from Amazon.com, this close to Christmas I can wait, my gf in NYC will get them and I'll pick them up when I go there. James_Hewitt - good to see another UKer going to CIII, I'll be there, I'm probably gonna pester the life out of Randy Stradley and Jeremy Barlow lol. If you see a big guy with red hair chasing a little short-@rse with brown hair and glasses, that'll be me finally got Randy peeved enough to try and kill me. I reckon 20 seconds with him will do it when I reveal my "I am Darth Nuke" T-shirt Muwhwhhahahahahahahahahaha *choke**cough* j/k
I don't live in Portsmouth - I'm further along the coast in Bognor Regis (yes I know...) - I'll bear it in mind if I'm ever over that way though!! Not sure there is a UK version of NEGTWAT (I like it!!) The last two New Essential guides weren't given a proper UK release - I believe the old ones were published by Boxtree and Titan books doesn't appeared to have picked these up in their reprint contract - the NEGTC and NEGTVAV were printed by Del Rey and all the ones in the UK that I have seen have been like this - try amazon or a local FP store. I believe the same would go for Panel to Panel - a great book by the way!!! I don't tend to order US books from amazon, I tend to go for one of there US based marketplace sellers - IE caiman usa or superbooks, they tend to be a bit cheaper and arrive much quicker too. One of these sellers appears to have Empire Volume 3 for sale - any US posters know if this is out yet - it does seem to be available remarkably early if they do indeed have it in stock.

We should all get "I am Darth Nuke" t-shirts, it'd be funny, even if a bit cruel, to see a big guy like Randy running away crying. Any chance you know what i'm to do when it says Invalid_session whenever i try signing up on the DH boards? Yeah, I'll be spending a good portion of my CIII time in the DH section.
Lol James As for the invalid session ... hmmm, I think I had one of those a while back, does this happen when you are registering or when you are trying to log on? If it is the latter, maybe there is a problem with your account, I'd do a new one. The only other thing I can suggest is clear your cookies out of the DHC cookiees and try logging in again after that (do a shift and refresh on the browser top too, just to be sure). I log in and out fine, with no problems (and on Halloween I did a bit of that with the alter-ego Halloween sock masquerade we had. Which turned into a type-like-Nuke-fest unfortunately lol. Poor guy. I can ask the board admins about it too if you still have problems and PM their answer to you on here. See you on there hopefully (I post as timb)
Anyone got Boba Fett #6 yet? I just ordered it from amazon.co.uk's marketplace - should have it soon!!
Got it Friday from Amazon US, along with Empire 3 and a couple of other non-SW books. I read it Saturday - it's good but I had some definite canon nit-piks with a few parts.
Just ordered Clone Wars Adventures Vol 2 - does anyone wish they'd release the cartoon series on DVD already, I still haven't seen all the episodes on Toonami!!
Toonami ran the whole lot one evening spliced together as a film and it has been repeated since. It was quite well done but unfortunately they allowed people to text in messages which ran at the bottom of the screen, which ruined it in my eyes. Keep an eye out as they might repeat it prior to the next CW series (or maybe around the holidays). Ignore the texting and it isn't too bad. (Just don't bother taping it for posterity..)
Got Dark Rendezvous and Clone Wars#5 in Forbidden Planet today! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw CW5, since Amazon says it's not out til December 17th. No sign of Clone Wars Adventures 2 though
Haven't seen Dark Rendezvous or Clone Wars Adventures 2 locally yet - maybe Monday. That's pretty good on CW5 though - I will look for it at the London FP when I am there next month.
<<Does anyone know why the Star Wars Galaxies book and Republic Commando books aren't published by Arrow in the UK? Is is to do with the fact they are based on video games and don't come under their contract?>> I don't know about Galaxies, but the availability of RC:HC has obviously occupied me in recent weeks. If you didn't see my post about this on the other threads, I asked Del Rey about RC:HC and I was told no UK publisher had picked it up, which I assume is because it's a game tie-in. (Incidentally, RC:HC wasn't part of the Del Rey main contract with LFL - it was a separate deal.) I suspect people don't expect tie-ins to sell, but RC:HC made two bestseller lists in the USA. And if you're hacked off, think how I feel - none of my books is published over here. Terrific. And people ask why I love America... Bookstores can order RC:HC, whatever they might tell you. Waterstones in Oxford Street has it, because the fiction manager told me via my blog. Murder One in London carries it. If you ask your bookstore and they say, "Dunno how to order it, mate," just say "Bertrams" to them. And in case some of you hadn't realised, I'm English - a Pompey Girl and proud of it.
Thanks for the post Karen - can I just say RC:HC is one of the better Clone Wars based books - it easily beats the hardbacks that have been published, in my opinion the reason for this is that you weren't constrained by having to use some of the main "big" characters, therefore eliminating some of the suspense regarding which chracters might or might not die. Whereas in the hardbacks you just know that any newly introduced character who befriends any of the main players and gets a lot of book time is very likely to be dead by the end of the book!! Do you still live and work out of the UK or are you based in America? Judging by the timing of your post you are based in America. I'm sure I speak for everyone here that has read RC:HC that we are looking forward to reading you upcoming books based in the Star Wars universe and we thank you for taking time out to post on these boards.
<<Do you still live and work out of the UK or are you based in America? Judging by the timing of your post you are based in America.>> No, I still live in the UK. Devizes, in fact. I just work round the clock. Some Polish fan sites have said I'm an American. (And perhaps the French, judging by the fact they don't seem to realise I can read French...) But I'm 100% English, and I like to fly the flag. Oh, and I'm going to be at CIII in April, so if anyone else is going, see you there.
I'm an American who's been living in London for the last 6 months, and let me tell you, I've had a bitch of a time finding new Star Wars books here.
Mavrick - Forbidden Planet and Murder One are the best places I have found for new Star Wars books. FP is on Shaftesbury Avenue and M1 is on Charing Cross Road. M1's Sci-fi collecton is downstairs. Both are fairly close to the Leicester Square tube station. I don't get to them as much as I would like since I don't live or work in London.
I've been in London today signing stock, and Waterstone's at 311 Oxford Street (the big branch opposite John Lewis) is waiting for Republic Commando: Hard Contact to arrive. Murder One in Charing Cross Road now has some signed copies. (I check out Forbidden Planet and I didn't venture into Borders because I ran out of time.)
I missed out the word "didn't" in the last sentence, in case it's not obvious. It's been that kind of day.
Murder One still had two copies of your book in the Star Wars book section when I was there this morning. And I found Clone Wars 5 at Comic Showcase on Charing Cross (London) and Clone Wars Adventures 2 at Forbidden Planet. They also had issue 1 of the Obsession comic - the lead-up series to RoTS.
Bah! Amazon said that CW5 wasn't going to be out until Dec 17th, so I haven't asked for it for Christmas. Now I'm going to have to buy it myself. Which cover was it? This one [image=http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/1840239034.02.LZZZZZZZ.jpg] Or this one [image=http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/1593072732.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg] I need to know what to look out for! ;-)
"Murder One still had two copies of your book in the Star Wars book section when I was there this morning." They had two copies there this afternoon too! And a few at Forbidden Planet. Thanks for letting me know about these places...too bad I'm heading home in 4 days.
