Welcome to the UPL, a League where all the aspiring and novice podracers gather.



What is this Roleplay about?

This is about podracing, hence the title. Here you can make a racer, make your podracer, and race against other racers.


How do races work?
After you submit your CS, you are free to post ICs, as this is a sandbox RP. You can do 1-on-1, 2v1, etc. races freely. But every week, matchups will be made. I will be the announcer, and you guys can do ICs during the race as well.

When is it set?
It is set around 32-1 BBY, around Episode I-IV.

Biography: Jayir was born and raised in Coruscant. He is a none force-sensitive. He always had a passion for podracing. When he saw the UPL looking for new podracers, it was his opportunity. He looks forward to great races and experiences.

IC: Jayir Weslan
Mos Espa Podrace Circuit



Jayir went to Mos Espa, to do some practice laps. He has been in a long hiatus in podracing due to his daily life. Now that he has joined the UPL, he needs to get in shape.

With the Shining Racer in the start of the track, he started his engines and went full speed. The track brought him nostalgia, as he raced here as a kid. Although the nostalgia distracted him, he nearly crashed into a rock.

"That was close! I better focus on this, leave your feelings behind, Jayir!" said Jayir to himself

A crowd slowly formed, Jayir was surprised. He was trying not to be pressured. His lap times were not bad, considering that he hasn't set foot on a track in a while.

Jayir did a total of 10 laps, in under 30 minutes! He decided to get some rest. The crowd was cheering for him.

"Thank you all! All of you are too kind."

Jayir went back to Coruscant, he had fun that day. He's pumped up about the UPL, and about the upcoming races.

Coruscant, Jayir's Garage

As he went back to Coruscant, he brought his podracer to his garage, he fixed some scratches that were left by the race. He doesn't have enough budget to buy more parts, so races will be his source of income.

Mos Espa Podracing Hangar



The next day, Jayir went back to Mos Espa, to go to the podracing hangar, to get advice from the best racers in the planet. He got a bunch of advise from a ton of people, and he got inspirations of what his next podracer build should be.

Biography: R5-22 is a pit droid who has been in 2 years of service. He's your typical, totally normal pit droid. He started serving Jayir just recently.

Cularin Swamp Run



After Jayir's travel to Mos Espa, he headed to the jungles of Cularin. Coincidentally, another racer was there as well. She was a Twi'lek, Jayir wanted to challenge her to a race.

"What's your name, mam?" asked Jayir


Zana was taken by surprised when the question. When she turned she saw another racer.

"Zana Roy, but everyone calls me zan. I may I ask your name?" She asked as she rose from her pod that she had been repairing. One of the power couplings had started acting up and she had a wrench in her hand. She had oil had her hands as well.


"The names Jayir Weslan, everyone calls me Jayir, but I like to be called Jay. I see that you are part of the UPL as well. Up for a quick race?"


"That's cool. It's a pleasure to meet you Jay." Zana said wiping oil from her hands.

"I will be up for that race as soon as I repair The Roy Walker." Said Zana as she pointed behind he and picked up her wrench once more. She then knelt by the power coupling and tried to fix it. She then gave up.

"What the hell I swear only the factory can fix these things. I hate them. I need to find a mechanic." Zana then kicked her pod and sat down on a box next to it whilst throwing her wenwch to the ground.


Jayir saw the frustrated Twi'lek and decided to help her. He has some mechanic knowledge so he asked if he could help.

"Hey, hand me over that wrench, I can probably help you out with your podracer." said Jayir


Zana was surpised at this and smiled. She picked up the wrench and offered it to Jay. It was not often so trusted people with The Roy Walker but she did trust Jay.

"Thank you, Jay. Just be careful with her, The Roy Walker is my pride and joy. It's nice talking to you too you know people tend to avoid me, your the first being I have spoken to you in a while." Zana said.


Jayir gave a smirk to the Twi'lek, and fixed her podracer. It didn't take awhile until her racer was fixed.

"Zana, here's your racer! Turns out it was missing a few screws, that's all. But your racer is good to go!" said Jayir

Jayir hopped on his racer and put it at the starting line. He revved up the engines and said,

"So, shall we?"


Zana took her pod to the starting line and thanked Jay before replying to his question.

"Your on, Jay. Just know that after this, I will always class you as a freind if that's alright with you." Zana said as she reved The Roy Walker.


Jayir smiled at Zana. He is happy to have a new friend.

"Thanks, Zan. Good luck!"

3..2..1...GO!

The two podracers zoomed by the course, the small crowd watched the two podracers speed by. The speed of their podracers was sonic fast! Except Jayir was falling behind, his Shining Racer was too slow to compete against the Roy Walker. Jayir tried to catch up so badly, his engines nearly overheated. He slowed down a bit to cool his engine down.


Zana raced on ahead and turned to see Jay falling behind. Zana slowed herslef down to ride alongside Jay.

"Is your pod a bit slow Jay?" Shouted Zana to be heard over their engines.


Jayir heard Zana, he replied,

"Yep! My podracer is really slow compared to yours. Yours is a Fadah Ace if I'm not mistaken? If it is, then no wonder I'm slower!"


"It is indeed. You certainly know your pods. You could consider an upgrade, Jay. I won't pressure you into it" Zana Replied. Her eyes kept flashing back and fourth between the track and Jay.


"Well, I actually don't know why I bought this podracer, I guess if I get more Truggets I could buy more upgrades. Right now my podracer can run up to 500 kph." said Jayir

The race ended shortly after a few laps. Jayir is losing hope that he will never win the League.

"Well, it was nice meeting you, Zan. See you on League 1!"

Biography: Tay was once a huge fan of podraceing, but because of his duites in the jedi order he could've fullfill that desire of podraceing. Eventually the council granted him a chance to fullfill his desires and once Tay saw the UPL was looking for racers, Tay bought a pod and signed himself up.

Biography: P6-I8 more formally known as Pie, has worked in the jedi order alongside Tay fixing stuff like his jedi starfighter and she now fixes Tay's pod as well.

Mon Gazza Speedway

"It's been weeks since I got practice, wish me luck, R5." said Jayir

"I'm sorry, Master, I'm not programmed to wish luck."

"I didn't mean it literally- *sighs* nevermind."

Jayir drove his racer to the starting line, and revved up his engines shortly. Then, he zoomed to the finish line. This course was easy and short, compared to the other tracks he's raced.

After 3 laps, he nearly beat the record of 51 seconds, instead he got 52. He did numerous laps again but he didn't seem to have any success.

After a long day of racing, he checked in to a nearby inn just around the speedway.

The next day, he saw Zan, and another racer he wasn't familiar with.

"Hey, Zan! Nice to see you again. And who might this be?" asked Jayir

Tay was kneeling next to his pod and was tightening a few screws on his pod when he heard another approch. He handed the wrench to his pit droid.
"Pie, do me a favour and tighten these screws I'll be back shortly" Tay said wiping oil away from his hands that had dripped from his pod.
"As you wish, Master Neir" the pit droid replied.
"No need to be so formal Pie" Tay said rolling his eyes before approching another racer. She was a Twi'lek. Tay then looked ahead and saw a young boy approching. Tay could tell on a glance that the boy was younger than him. 14? Possibly 15?.
"Hey, Zan! Nice to see you again. And who might this be?" asked Jayir
"The names, Neir. Taylor Neir, everyone calls Tay though. I take it your Jayir?" Tay replied putting out his clean hand to shake Jay's. A loud bang then came from behind the trio. Tay turned and saw that his pit droid had dropped a box of screws.
"be careful with those Pie" Tay shouted over to her
"I will Master Neir. Sorry" Pie replied. Tay turned back to the other racers.
"Don't mind her. Pie can be a bit clumsy sometimes. Always has been since she started working for the jedi order" Tay said smiling
