unintentionally funny moments in the prequels

I love how Ric Olie never seems to have any emotion and, when he does, it's the wrong one.

 

I've always found this one funny... or at least a little stupid.




Episode III

Anakin and Kenobi are in the elevator on Greivous' ship. The elevator suddenly stops.

Obi-Wan asks Anakin "Did you press the stop button?"

Anakin then in his infinite wisdom answers "No. Did you?"



Now I do not know if Kenobi is a practical joker or something like that, but is he asks you, if you pressed the stop button, then it seems likely to me that he himself did not press the button.

 

The scene where Padme & Anakin can sense each other from across the city. it's one of the most moving scenes in the saga for me but my brother had to go ruin it for me he said we can't hear iit but they're arguing through the force

PADME

ANAKIN
Did you remember to put my underwear in the washer?

PADME
Oh, I forgot I was watching "All My Younglings" and I got caught up

ANAKIN

Look at the very start, the subtitles say "The geography that I stands compares your superior" wtf does that mean?

I always loved the Watto/Qui Gon relationship. When they are doing the podrace "bet" Watto gets so angry and frustrated about the whole thing. Then Qui Gon calmly just tell Watto: "Patience my blue friend". Lol, the way he delivers the line, its just so funny. Also when Watto loses the chance cube bet, lol.. The face he makes when he realise he has lost.. He has just about had enough then, and he just blurts out his frustration at Qui Gon. Blue Watto almost turn red..

Dont know if its actually unintentionally funny. But to me its more fun than it was probably intended to be..

I think Palaptine's facial expressions when he's hanging in the elevator shaft below Anakin and Obi-Wan at the beginning of ROTS are pretty funny.

 

I LOL when in ROTS Yoda goes to find Sidious and he force-pushes him backwards and he stumbles on a chair!

 

When me and dad went to see it 5 years ago people in the cinema room cheered and clapped when Yoda pushed him!

 

This. In the special features on the DVD release, George Lucas actually mentions to one of the animators that he didn't want it to come off as humorous...I guess they failed that

 

Like others have already said, Yoda fighting Count Dooku made me laugh. I still couldn't stop laughing on the way put of the cinemas!

I always loved Obi-Wan's jokes too. "The negotiations were short." though I suppose his jokes were intentional.

 

In AOTC when Anakin and Padme were on the ship heading for Tatooine and Padme had an erect nipple. :L

 

When Anakin complains to Padme about the sand in AOTC. Telling her it gets everywhere. I'm thinking, um, so Darth Vader doesn't like sand in his underwear. Of all things to discover about him in the PT...

And on that note... that kiss. After Padme pulls away saying she shouldn't do that. Anakin's like, uh, what am I supposed to do with this?

 

Padme jumping off the top of that very high pillar in AOTC and onto the back of that arena monster and landing crotch-first, in a way that would end up fracturing her pubic bone, or at the very least leave her writhing around in agony for sometime.

 

According to the AOTC novel, Anakin slowed her descent with the Force.

Still, it looks painful to be sure.

 

That's the explanation fans have spent 30 years looking for, as to why no one changes Luke's name. They know Anakin's aversion to sand is so strong that there's no WAY he'll set foot on Tatooine once he's trapped in a suit with as many cracks and crevices as his bionic armor has.

And people think Lucas doesn't plan these things out...

I saw ROTS four times in four different theaters on opening day and during all four showings people laughed when Yoda climbs up on Chewie's back after he decapitates the two soldiers in the command tree. It wasn't a bad thing that they laughed, but I don't know if it was intentionally funny.

 

This! Theres just something so funny about a little Green dude walking with a cane, grunting with every step, jumping around, screaming, kicking some ass!

 

A lot of people from stories I've heard were cheering during that scene. The laughs could be because people thought it was silly, yes. Its silly in concept given the Yoda we knew in the OT. But the laughs in some cases could have been childlike exclamations of excitement too.

 

So Yoda climbs up Chewbacca's arm to ride out of there quickly on his back... why is that silly? Maybe I'm missing something.

 

Sorry, I totally misquoted there. I meant to quote DarthCalo's line about people laughing at Yoda fighting. My comment was directed at this.

In regards to Yoda climbing on Chewie's back - I thought this was certainly one of the cutest moments in the saga. I love it. Nobody who I saw it with laughed.

 

Ive recently started thinking the way Nute Gunray tells the droids to take the Queen away was funny: "PROCESS THEM"
