Full Series Viewing Order of Star Wars the Clone Wars

I'm a little late, but for future readers. I would say there are two main options. If you are casual and just want to chill while watching some great animated children's television, I would just watch in release order. If you like the story and want it to make some slight sense, then I would very much recommend finding a watch order to follow.

 

Both chronological and release order work just fine, i prefer release order mainly for the gradual improvement of the visuals and stories across the seasons, but the first half of Season 3 in particular feels very disjointed in release order.

 

I mostly do chronological, but on my most recent rewatch I decided to move the two episodes where Maul comes back to be viewed later, with the Shadow Collective arc. It forms a really entertaining and rewarding movie, would recommend.

 

I revisited some political episodes. Similar to the Ryloth episodes, can HOBS and POP be separated from Senate Murders? IIRC, it leads to Phase II armor in the Citadel arc. For instance:

The Citadel arc doesn’t use the full Phase II armour for the Clones, only Echo and Fives use the hybrid Phase I and II ARC Trooper armour that was seen in Clone Cadets and ARC Troopers (the episode). The first time to the full rollout of Phase II took place was the Mon Cala arc in Season 4. Of course there’s no reason Senate Murders has to take place immediately after Pursuit of Peace.
