The DCAU has been pretty terrible of late, with the Justice League: War, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis and Batman and Son being such a step down in quality compared to other entries. Plus, they have sought to emulate Japanese style animation, which I think is a pretty poor choice given anime's uniquely non-human stylings.

Batman v Robin is thankfully a return to form for DCAU, adapting the Court of Owls story from the New 52 with a bit of Batman and Son.

I really want to see an adaptation of Dick as Batman, mentoring Damian.

 

The animation in those was so poorly done - and the anime influence is because actual animation gets outsourced to Japanese studios. It happened in BTAS (you can actually tell what studio did the animation almost episode to episode) and see some really clear influences seeping through (Beware the Grey Ghost shares a ton of visual DNA with Akira, for example).

I mean, for me, it had to be the bit where Ra's Al Ghul's sword fight was basically just him waving his swords around with poor animation covering a lack of time/attention to detail. I have a ton of issues with story stuff but I can forgive that because DC have been pretty notorious about weird story stuff of late.

 

Assault on Arkham? That was a good one.

 

It was an OK one, it wasn't great. I mean, look at the following and tell me it came close:

The Dark Knight Returns Parts I and II
Justice League: Doom
Justice League: New Frontier
Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox
Wonder Woman
Superman Batman: Public Enemies

I don't think you can include Mask of the Phantasm and Sub-Zero in that category, Heels. Superman Unbound and All Star were great, I agree, and I missed it on the list. But Assault on Arkham was merely ok, and still disappointing relative to the larger canon.

 

There are a lot of Batman/Superman ones but rarely a WW one, the 2009 WW animated movie was the best WW origin I've seen, other than Hade's appearance was, well...

Were you happy on the voice acting choice for 2009 WW, or can you think of any stars of the Underworld franchise who might have been a good choice?

 

I want to see more movies about other heroes, not just the two or JL.
