I've been thinking the best comparison for Black Adam would be to those competent, very watchable if not fantastic DC Animated Originals, from before that "New 52" style continuity they had going for a while. I think it's very comparable to that Wonder Woman DVD movie.

I'll probably see Black Adam Tuesday night. Is there an end credits scene to stick around for?

the end credits scene is why you buy the ticket for this one, sarge.

Unless you want to wait a few days until someone posts it up on YouTube.

Saw it last night. Rock did a great job. Pierce was awesome as Kent.

The rest? So so. The plot was decent but not great. The mid credit scene was nice but we’ll see if it amounts to anything.

I enjoyed the film for what it was, but it wasn’t something I’d see over and over.

If I had a dime for every time I said that after watching just about every movie over the past decade or so, I'd be swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck.

    Now I'm intrigued...

    Ditto.

Well, except for Top Gun: Maverick. I'm not sure how many times I went to see that one. Probably at least 6. It's corny and jam-packed with goofs, errors, and just plain wrong stuff, but it still speaks to me.

I think that’s the issue though. I can’t count the number of times I’ve watched Batman 89 and Returns. Even Forever has some appeal if it’s on tv. And I can’t count the number of times I’ve watched the Superman Returns plane rescue scene- which to me is quintessential Superman.

Wonder Woman is the only DCEU movie I own I believe. Justice League was on when I was visiting my sister in the hospital this weekend and then Wonder Woman- one was far more interesting than the other. Aquaman is perhaps the only film I found “fun” to watch and even that I haven’t fully watched again. I’ve caught Suicide Squad on tv but I don’t actively look to stream it or the sequel. And I fell asleep trying to watch The Batman a second time- I had to watch it over two days as a result.

In comparison, I’ve watched pretty much every Marvel film several times. Even some of the least interesting ones have some hook worth watching one more time.

I watched about 75% of The Suicide Squad again yesterday. Seen it a bunch of times. Easily the best DCEU movie, love it

"Carry it for who?! For what?!"

Funny thing is that WW is the only LA DC movie that I own as well. I also own animated films like Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, WW, and Batman: Assault on Arkham.

“We’re consolidating everything that makes DC what it is under one new division.”
    “What about the comic books?”

dc universe infinite is popping, ramza. they'll be up to 32k titles in the digital library on november 1st - marvel unlimited hit 30k this year, has been around since 2007, and charges $2 more per month. dc's also offering the annual tier folks access to titles one month after release, which is pretty nice.

Is the first good DCEU movie on the horizon? Experts undecided.

I know, they also do a much better job of organizing reading lists (the Superman Triangle Era curation is just *chef's kiss*), although I'm worried about how much partitioning they might do when Ultra is "formally" rolled out.

i love marvel unlimited, but i do agree that dc's service is more user-friendly and better organized. working my way through batman '89 atm, it's so wonderful.

Do I get excited and put on my clown makeup now or later?

DC Universe Infinite is the only way I read Big Two comics anymore, since I dropped my Marvel books in frustration some months ago and I refuse to touch the festering corpse of Comixology that Amazon left behind, which also just doesn't work in Canada anymore.

So basically Gunn is pulling a Rick Rude circa 1997ish:

I must admit though I like this move by DC right now. They need a story teller at the helm like Gunn. Perhaps Lucasfilm can find the same in a few years. Whoops did I say that aloud sorry not sorry.
