So it seems like Affleck's out as the aged, mentor Batman of what's left of the DCEU, Keaton's in.

    Yeah, that's really sad. RIP.

Flash movie would probably have Barry run so fast he jumps into alternative universes (DCEU Flash already did in CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths) so you'd figure it's like Flashpoint Batman but it would probably be tweaked a bit logically that Keaton would be playing a elder Burton-verse Bruce Wayne and not just a Bruce Wayne who happens to also be Michael Keaton.

This also means towards the potential for a movie-verse sized Crisis on Infinite Earths eventually as well if they start doing alt verses coming together. Multiverse can't stop collapsing!

As for Schumacher, I actually prefer Batman and Robin over Batman Forever. B&R is probably the only Bat-family centric movie aside from Dark Knight Rises and only movie that seems the most like the Adam West Batman '66 show.

But, rather than Michael playing a retired Batman....surely he could undertake one last full fledged outing as Batman?

Yes, as an older Batman but still as Batman rather than the Obi-Wan version of Batman.

He looks the part, he's fit and he looks around a decade younger than his true age.

If Harrison Ford can reprise IJ and Solo, surely there's room for a Keaton Batman film, just one last time?

next dc animated film has a release date:

superman: man of tomorrow - digital 8/23, BR 9/8. perhaps its our collective dreary predicament, or that i am just a sucker for any and every superman movie, but i am extra excited by this. unclear if this is the "reboot" film for the new animated universe, or free standing - fine with either.

I will take Michael Keaton back as Batman any way I can get it, but damnit I want him in a Batman Beyond movie as old bruce at some point. Or Kevin Conroy. I just want a live action Batman Beyond.

It'd be interesting if because Michael Keaton returns as Batman that DC suddenly becomes bigger than MCU

If that happens and they truly panic, expect a fleet of dumptrucks to show up at Robert Downey Jr's house and probably a couple outside of Chris Evans' house as well. And while they are at it, possibly Hugh Jackman's.

That's... literally the first time we've heard that about him on a set. It's not unbelievable or anything, but his whole thing with Charisma Charpenter (in specific) and his grooming of young actresses (in general) were possible primarily because there were never any stories like this about him on-set and his showrunning/directing.

Well, there was that rather dubious Flash-on-Wonder-Woman boob joke that Gal Gadot refused to shoot (they used her body double), so I can't say I'm utterly surprised by this report. It's sad, because he's launched many interesting female characters, but there's a fine line between pushing boundaries and going too far. Apparently, he seems to have crossed it.

Thus far, he's the only one who appears to be saying anything (and a Snyder Bro like some of the folks in this thread...)... all of the articles on this are only going off of this, so keep wondering what the backstory is to this. I can't imagine this flying to the point of him getting a second Avengers film, which is why this is so confusing...

    Also...

This isn't to say I don't believe him, because (as Rogue150% notes) it would absolutely track... but right now it's just super-weird.

i agree with the tweet, and of course it's happening - but the character of many of the people using it for those purposes was known long before today.

nah, we don't have any of them here, all good folks. the ones i was referencing live in the twitter sewers.

i do hope ray, and some others, are working to release some specific examples/accounts of the allegations.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition) is now streaming on HBOMax. This is the 3-hour version of the movie.

I watched it for the first time yesterday. I still wouldn’t call the film good but at least it’s coherent.

So I don't check this thread that often but I just want to say: they could conceivably have cast Michael Keaton because they want him to play Thomas Wayne, not Bruce Wayne, and he would need to be conceivably old enough to be Ben Affleck Bruce Wayne's father.

    Because it's Flashpoint.

A story where Thomas Wayne was Batman.

I definitely think that would be hilarious - but weren't the reports using the word reprise, which I guess could also be technically correct (as Batman, not Bruce Wayne)?
