Kinda actually. I'm more down with actor consistency than anything else, and since Momoa interacted with Batfleck before, it'd be best for him to interact with Batfleck again if Aquaman and Batman are indeed to interact.

All I need is for Wonder Woman and Shazam to continue, possibly crossover, and have Pierce Brosnan occasionally fly around them in a Dr Fate costume.

It is truly the catch-22 of our times.

 

Yeah, I think I’d have to argue that Superman’s continued and consistent success on television shows that he and his ensemble cast still interest a wide audience - and I’d even argue that while both Superman Returns (Deadbeat Dad and Same Old Lex) and Man of Steel (Destruction Porn and Not Enough Lois And Clark) are flawed… they both showcased *just* enough of the character’s appeal to justify being profitable.

(Yes, I’ll still take MoS over SR any day of the week, but that’s just because Silver Age Superman’s usual “just pull the resolution out of thin air” is the problem SR suffers.)

The TV shows usually do better because they focus on making sure people want to see Clark and Lois at work or home, fitting Superman into Metropolis/Smallville, and making sure he has not just one story-length conflict, but multiple.

…I might also add that it's not just movie executives who struggle to understand why people like Superman; more than one comic writer/editor has struggled, and unfortunately, several of them had more opportunities at the character than actual competent writers in the last decade or so (Dan Didio, Eddie Berganza, and even JMS.)
