They didn't stick it on the War of Rohirrim version out now?

Clayface movie confirmed for September 2026, and confirmed to be part of the dcu.

DCU also just scheduled two mystery movies for May 2026 and March 2027. Ballsy of them to release something so close to Doomsday.

The Clayface announcement articles keeps using images of Clayface from Harley Quinn which I find very entertaining

Dynamic Duo release date confirmed as June 2028 now.

Also, I didn’t realize this before, but the May 2026 mystery movie is actually just a week after Mando & Grogu. That month is gonna be stacked.

Creature Commandos continues to be great. Regarding Clayface, if you're giving me a horror/thriller/tragedy from the guy who wrote Haunting of Hill House, Haunting of Bly Manor, and Midnight Mass, all of which for my money are among the best horror projects in any medium of the past 10 years, I'm not going to sit here and say no.

At the very least, I like the approach for the DCU to focus on a wide range of projects with different tones and different genres, treating the universe as a sandbox to play in, as opposed to each movie or TV series ostensibly having the same tone and genre regardless of subject matter or setting, and functioning as another "episode" in an ongoing narrative. I think that approach works beautifully for the "superhero soap opera" that defines Marvel, and it well suited for the MCU, but I don't think it's transferable to DC.

Which is an interesting contrast to the fears from even Phase 1 of the MCU. Remember the worries of how you'd integrate magic and aliens into the same universe as Iron Man, let alone in the same film?

Yeah, it’s interesting to think back on that time period, like circa 2008-10 when it was kind of uncertain how it would all be handled. From my recollection, a lot of that hinged on presumptions that Thor and Captain America would be handled very differently than the movies/characterizations we ended up receiving. I think post-Iron Man and The Dark Knight, the assumption was that Thor would be a more Lord of the Rings style epic fantasy, and the into script was a $300 million affair in that vein, and Captain America would be a proper war film. With the benefit of hindsight, synchronizing the tones was the obvious choice, but I don’t think anyone anticipated Thor would be handled as a fish out of water sci-fi comedy, or that Captain America would be as pulpy and Rocketeer-influenced as it was.

All the Thor movies are comedies which is why I am a mite perplexed about "It's a comedy now" for Ragnaok

I am not sure which DC movie could be a comedy though unless Clayface movie is totally about Harley Quinn Clayface, which would be amazing

It’s not a movie, but Booster Gold will definitely need to be. None of the films yet announced, or even hinted at, hint towards comedy.

They dialed up the comedy gradually with each film, though.

The first two films were more serious than the last two films. The serious scenes had time to breathe whereas they are interrupted in the latter films. Branagh and Taylor are more serious directors compared to Waititi.

Yeah, probably best categorized as "drama that has funny moments" transitioning to "comedy with serious moments".

I think the concerns also extended even beyond the actual production of those films. I believe it was Favreau who was somewhat relieved that he didn't have to tackle that challenge when they took him off of Avengers 1 to direct Iron Man 2 (although he was still disappointed that he didn't get the chance, IIRC). And by that point, they likely already had a good idea of how those other 2 films were going to play out.

Yeah, the first two Thor movies were definitely more serious than the latter two.

I did like how Thor's friends kept threatening to kill Loki if he betrayed him. Finally, "If you even think about betraying him..." "...you'll kill me? Evidently, there'll be a line."

Honestly the Hercules teaser in Love and Thunder had me hoping they go on an adventure together because it would be hilarious, although people who don't know Hercules would think it's a future bad guy teaser as the scene itself is presented as being menacing

A "Sayest what?" from Herc and him bragging about towing Manhattan would have popped me for sure.

I love that the poster is telling Superman to look up to remind him that he is, indeed, in a James Gunn film. If only any of us could be so lucky

    Teaser trailer this Thursday...

Every time I see David Corenswet, I see Billy Eichner, and it bothers me.
