Save them for future operations. I suggest France. History has shown us that they're a pretty easy nut to crack. ;)

LOL...I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather go after a country that speaks the same language!

We have French Canadians who can translate for us. :p

Friendly? Heck, yeah. Look at WW2. They cooperated fully. Even the women. :p

Or use that stupid "Translator" thing. Although, it doesn't really work. I went into the France forum one time, highlighted some text and translated it to English. It didn't make any sense.

I see people using it in GSFF (German Speaking Fanforce) all the time. It's pretty obvious. I've tested it a few times. It really is quite terrible. You live in New Brunswick though, right? You should know French. :p

That's because different langauages reverse the order of the parts of sentences. For example, in English, we always place our adjectives before the noun they are to modify. In French and Spanish, the adjectives come after. Then you have the fact that French and Spanish both have masculine, femimine (sp), and neutral forms of words, whereas us in English don't do all that. I think you would need someone who was fluent in those languages to translate. But at least the translator gives us some sort of idea what they are saying...

It gives an idea for reading, but I don't recommend anyone use it to compose anything. Tammy's right. Not all languages construct sentances the same, and the translator isn't intelligent enough to figure that stuff out. It just translates words.

Oh, and by the way... French only has feminine and masculin. German has neutral, but French doesn't.

k...Spanish has neutral...I thought when I was sitting in class (last semester, when I taught), and the head teacher was teaching French, she mentioned neutral words? Maybe I had cottonballs in my ears...

Yeah, that's more or less how it would go. :p

Canadian French would still be close enough to work out what they're saying. There's just a few quirks with the names of foods and the plural forms of words for the most part.
