He looks like Matt Damon in There's Something About Mary after he gets his teeth capped.

There was a rumour at KoTOR III, but I don't believe it. Everything Disney is doing is OT themed at the moment.

I could write a lot about this but I'll hope for (relative) brevity. My answer is no. Revan works best as a tragic figure. The tragedy of Revan is that you have a man who is charismatic, capable, and truly means well. Yet, for all of these characteristics, he fundamentally lacks a certain degree of agency. The Mandalorian Wars were a trick forced upon the galaxy by the Sith. The Jedi Civil War was the result of his own curiosity and desire for answers leading him to the very individual/Force that corrupted him. I've always enjoyed the notion that Revan, as a Sith, was still trying to accomplish his main goal: prepare the galaxy for what was to come. TOR's never given me a reason to doubt that motive. If anything, it's given me reason to believe that Revan's actions as a Sith were meant to form his own empire to fight the one he knew was coming. Malak, either through greed or loyalty to Vitiate, denied that.

That's tangential, however. Because even after his mind was wiped, Revan was a pawn. He's always been a pawn with all the makings of a king. Thus, learning of his fate and failure in TOR does not bother me. He acted. That is both his greatest strength and weakness. Revan acts. Knowing the threat that existed, he did not linger long. He acted and went to face it and if not for a cruel trick of the Force, may very well have succeeded. Even in captivity, along with the support of the Exile, he acted, influencing the mind of the Sith Emperor and buying the galaxy time.

Released from the influence that tainted his mind and presented with the first bit of agency he had in centuries, Revan acted. He was going to leave nothing to chance, not anymore. Chance was what betrayed him before. He was going to do what he thought must be done in order to preserve the galaxy. And when that failed? He plotted. This time aiming to eliminate the source of all conflicts. After all, sometimes you need to uproot something entirely in order to save the rest. Sometimes, you need to burn the diseased crops to preserve the rest. Misguided? Perhaps. In character? I think so. This is the mindset of the post Mandalorian Revan writ in large.

People project a lot onto Revan. How could they not? He was, for a majority of time, a face only. At least from the Jedi Civil War onwards. KOTOR II began to change that but even that was couched in theory and supposition. With Revan, people want a great hero and an all powerful figure because they associate themselves, as players, with Revan. But that's not an effective character. That's a boring character. And I believe Revan serves Star Wars far better as a tragic individual caught between the forces of good and evil, light and dark. His story is a cautionary one about rash actions and bold behaviors. With that in mind, I think TOR's done quite well and the Revan we now see, post "Forged Alliances" is possibly the most "Revan" that Revan has ever been.

PS. So much for brevity, eh?

I'd like to think I've got my finger on the pulse of the heart of the Force because I selected the mullet revan the first time I played KOTOR.

    And I have no complaints.

Wow, it sounds like they really ruined Revan. I dont acknowledge the existence of TOR, in my opinion it was a bad game and felt like any boring MMO out there. All i wanted was KOTOR 3 and TOR was def not that.

Revan disappeared into another galaxy. THE END.

I actually liked Carth like others on this thread and couldnt hate the guy at all, he went through a lot with the death of his family. Plus hes voiced by the same guy who voices as Scorch in Republic Commando, i freaking love the game and just finished a walkthrough of that game on my channel.

Full disclosure: I don't hate Carth–I might even like him–and I do love his voice actor. He's just so whiny. All. The. Time.

    Yes.

I may be biased due to my own head cannon that at times I confuse with real cannon.

    To be brief:

I don't see any method for the story to end with Revan as a character I like more than I did before the SWTOR materials. Sometimes, you just need to let a character fade quietly into the sunset.

In SWTOR he seems to act like Malak. The problem is he supposedly got his memories back when he put the mask on so he ought to know better. Secondly, where on earth did his cult come from? Revan's republic actions likely were suppressed after all he wasn't welcome with the Jedi and his Imperial actions were brief and failures.

I always wanted Revan to have the fate Bastila had. To die by old age, happily. I know he always had been a tragic figure, but I hoped that they would cut him some slack. I really hope he does not die at the end of this new TOR expansion. I love Revan and will side with him. I think it would be beautifully poetic if he got his mind whipped again. Then was able to just be a man, and live out the rest of his life happily.

But is getting your mind wiped truly living happily... or living a lie?

    It is an unearned redemption.

Now, Revan has an opportunity for a legit redemption, presumably through Satele or Theron, or both.

I agree that Revan is a tragic figure but I don't see how marginalising him as much as possible and make him just a pawn of little consequence who always was trying to do the right thing helps towards that. The twist of KOTOR was that Revan used to be the Sith Lord. THE Sith Lord. The Emperor maybe the one nominally in charge but he's well over a thousand years old but didn't turn thought to action until Revan was born. He didn't find the courage go beyond ill-fated proxy wars until Revan and Malak came and joined the strength of their battlefleet and their own strength, as well as all the other Jedi that followed them to the Siths. Not to mention the Starforge. Saying Revan somehow stalled the Empire is an idea rather hard to justify if you ask me.
