Was Yoda lying to Luke when he said "No" to the Dark Side being stronger?

as you know in ESB, Luke asks Yoda "Is that Dark side stronger" and Yoda quickly answers no. This may contradict the fact that, what we see from Anakin, the Dark DOES make him stronger. That may be one of the reasons he could've survived his injuries on Mustafar; his sheer hatred of Kenobi was the one thing keeping him alive. Had he not been extremely pissed at Obi-Wan (but I think, given his situation, anyone would) he probably would just kept laying near the lava, waiting for it to finish him. His hate and anger was the main driving force to finish what he started at the Temple, so he could take his own revenge of the rest of the Jedi who didn't die in Order 66.

No, because from Yoda's perspective the Dark Side isn't stronger. Only someone who is completely selfless can become a Force Ghost and Yoda views that as a power greater than anything the Sith can accomplish. The Dark Side may be stronger in combat and in matters of physical struggle but as Yoda says in ESB "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter." and as such the Dark Side's advantage in combat is of little importance in the long run.

Not to mention that it seems from the Prequels that a master of the Light Side can simply block anything a Sith can throw at him.

Rightesness is always the answer Yound one, fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. Fear leads to the Dark Side, and fear does not make one strong.

What Yoda said was that it was quicker, easier and more seductive. All of those things are true, as proven by the PT:

When turning to the dark-side, you get an instant boost. Your hate fuels you so that you increase your strength.

It is also more seductive - it's easier to give into your hate and anger than to see the bigger picture and find another solution, and thus be at peace with yourself and your surroundings.

Given proper training and time, a Jedi can be equally strong, or stronger than a Sith, but that's just it - it takes time. Anakin wasn't willing to spend years training and acquiring knowledge, experience and gradually becoming stronger. He wanted it all, and he wanted it then and there. He even says so himself - he knows it is wrong.

Yoda's reply to Luke is actually 100% true. Just think of how powerful Anakin would have become had he remained a Jedi! And yeah, Yoda was as powerful as Sideous (if not more powerful);)
