    Title: What a Girl Wants
    Author: VaderLVR64
Characters: Deliah Blue, Jariah Syn, Cade Skywalker
    Timeframe: Way post NJO :p
Summary: Some men are just oblivious to what a girl wants.
Notes: This is my first foray into these characters, and I only have the bit of information in the Legacy 0 comic to go on. So a lot of this may prove to be WAY off base. :D

    What a Girl Wants

There was a lot that was intriguing and mysterious about the Captain, Deliah mused even as she cursed the bit of machinery that was currently supposed to be the focus of her attention. Cade, who never gave another name, at least none that she had ever heard, maintained an aloof air. It was not often that any male humanoid was immune to the charms of Deliah Blue, and she admitted that it rankled, especially since she was so far from immune to his appeal.

She often wondered what secrets he carried in that tall, muscular frame of his. Deliah also pondered how much she would like to plunder through those mysteries and find out what made Captain Cade tick. There was something about him that made a girl quite sure he would know just how to treat her, how to hold her so that everything else in the galaxy just faded into insignificance. Del just wanted a chance to see if her theory was correct. That?s not so much to ask, is it? she thought with a sigh.

A deep, amused voice came from behind her. ?What?s the matter, Del?? There was a soft, infuriating chuckle. ?Still trying to scheme your way into the Captain?s bed?and failing??

Deliah whirled around. ?Shut it, Jariah, or this hydrospanner is gonna be lodged in a very uncomfortable location!? She held it up and wagged it threateningly in his direction.

He winked at her, not at all worried by his peril. ?Now that does sound interesting,? he quipped with a wicked grin. Then he sighed, ?But not at all like fun.?

With a roll of her eyes and a stifled groan of disgust, she turned back to the repair work at hand. ?Why don?t you be a good boy and shut the hell up?? she muttered.

Jariah laughed softly. ?Since when have I been a good boy?? he asked in a husky voice.

She glanced up at him, a reluctant smile tugging at her lips. ?You?re too easy, Jariah,? she said. ?I like ?em to play hard to get.?

Snorting, Jariah Syn said, ?Well then, the Captain is just your type,? he said. ?They don?t come much harder to get than Captain Cade.?

?I?ve noticed,? she grumbled before she realized what she had said. Her shoulders slumped in dejection.

Then Deliah felt a warm hand on her shoulder. ?Don?t waste any more time thinking about the Captain, Del,? Jariah said softly. ?Sometimes, I think the only thing in this galaxy that Cade cares about is the Mynock. He tapped the bulkhead as he spoke.

She gave a sigh and turned back around, coming to her feet so that their faces were just centimeters apart. She looked into his intelligent dark eyes and smirked. ?Well I?ve got a way with the Mynock myself,? she said in a husky voice. ?Who knows? Maybe I?ll have the Captain purring just as sweet?one day.?

Shaking his head, Jariah took a step back. ?Don?t count on it, Del,? he said. ?You?ll only get hurt.?

?I?m a big girl,? she protested. ?I?ve been around the galaxy a few times.?

?There?s hurt and then there?s big hurt,? he murmured. ?The Captain is big hurt. It?s written all over him. Hell, Del, he?s big hurt himself, you?ll see it if you only back off long enough to really look.?

Her mouth set in stubborn lines. ?Maybe I wanna fix him, make him not hurt anymore.?

?Then you?re a damned fool,? Jariah said without rancor.

?I can take care of myself,? she answered with a defiant lift of her chin.

He held up his hands in surrender and gave her his most charming smile. ?Just trying to give you a bit of friendly advice.? He shrugged and stepped back another pace. ?Consider the subject closed.?

?Good,? she said tightly. Then she smiled at him, her good humor suddenly restored. Deliah held out her hand, declaring

I've not read the comics, but very good. You really are a Skywalker fan, aren't you? Ya know, I'd like to see you write Solos (as in Solo kids and descendants).

poor Deliliah, although I admire her determination. It's very cool to see fanfic about this pair, and this was veryt clever.

Holy Hannah, now I have to go and get this comic. You've made it a necessity to my life. I love this. It has a fond similarity to Firefly, which I absolutely love. Poor Delilah Blue, Skywalker men can have very hard heads.

Wonderful speculation, VaderLVR64! I especially liked the allusion to 'fixing' Cade like Delilah fixes his ship. And how sweet that she's playing 'fair' and not employing her Zeltron empathy or pheromones to get what she wants!

And yes, ZaraValinor, my Master, you must get Legacy. Nagai and Zeltrons and Sith, oh my!

SilSolo I've actually done a whole series with the Solos. ;)

Hananiah Cade seems like a very interesting character.

ZaraValinor I just picked up issue #1 yesterday. :_|

RebelGrrl I got the impression from the very first comic that she wasn't using any of her special "talents" so I just decided to write her as a woman falling for a guy who doesn't see her in that way. Again, all of this may prove to be very, very wrong. [face_laugh]

    princess_of_naboo I can't wait for issue #2!

    TnTornado Thanks! That's a huge compliment! :D

What's the title? It's just that I wonder how you would interpret the Solo kids' characters and their 'ships.

That was great VaderLVR64, quick and to the point...I think John and Jan would be proud ;) The new characters in the Legacy comics are just ssooo...well, what can I say I'm already in [face_love] . And I think your preception of Delilah and Cade, will pretty well be on target.

    Good job =D=

THE_PIED_PIPER The more I read, the more interested I get. I'm sure I'll found out I've been totally off the mark in some ways, but I'll learn. :p Thanks for reading! :D

I've never been much of a comic fan, even for SW, so I haven't seen Legacy. I've thought from the beginning that the concept sounds interesting, though, and this vignette makes me think that all the more. Maybe I'll look for it after all. [face_thinking] And I agree that it has a similarity to Firefly. SW + Firefly would make one heck of a stylish story. :p

Even if the characterization doesn't turn out to be quite in line with the comics, you really did wonders with this vignette. I'm impressed that you can get such inspiration from so little source material. And I won't be at all surprised if you got the characterization dead on to begin with. ;)

Very nice. Cade seems like a very complex and interesting character in the one comic and I love how you described him here. :)

Just found this. Great job with Cade and Del. She's lusting after someone she's not likely to get.

This is great! I wonder about those early days with the Mynock crew. [face_mischief]
