I am reading a book called Fallen Angels, it is a really good book about the Vietnam War. It would make into an excellent movie.

I'd like to see someone do John Christopher's Tripods Trilogy, which from what I've heard may actually happen.

There's also a book series I'd like to see remade and its The Indian in Cupboard novels. The first book was made into a movie several years ago, but it was totally butchered in the process which was a shame because the books are really good books and had the first film actually done well the producers would have found themselves with 5 film franchise on their hands.

A Song of Ice and Fire definitely. Casting that would be so much fun, and the fact that the fantasy aspects are really kept to a minimum and it is much more political/whodunit means folks not necessarily drawn to this genre would dig it too.

Harry Turtledove's 'The Guns of the South'. I mean, not only would it rock purely because it's a Civil War story but it's an alternative history Civil War story with time travellers! Time travellers!!!!!

It'd probably be fundamentaly impossible to make a really good Sandman movie, but Adrian Brody always struck me as being so perfect for the role that it'd seem like a waste not to let him have a crack at it. Never gonna happen, though.

Bjork, they are making some serious changes in the movie version of HDM, namely God is being cut.

The book and comic book I want to see the most are being made into movies right now: Phillip K. Dick's "A Scanner Darkly" and Alan Moore's "V for Vendetta." I think Scanner is going to be great, I hope Vendetta is too.

Eric Flint's Ring of Fire Universe could be good.

When the Wind Blows by James Patterson. I love that book. I've read it 3 times

Another good one would be Prey by Michael Crichton. I've read that one five times

    :)

I would love to see an Ender's Game movie. However, since the main character is a child it would be hard to find that perfect child actor...since child actors suck ass.

I found an early draft of a script for a Sandman movie on simplyscripts.com a few years back. It was okay - kind of a mesh between Predlude and Nocturnes and The Doll's House. The problem is that there's no way any film could capture the grand feel of Sandman... but it was a PRETTY good attempt

I'd love to see The Hobbit brought to the screen.

The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind -- I'd be interested in seeing that as a movie (or movies).

Also, I think the Star Wars X-Wing books would make an interesting TV show, either animated or live action.

A Song Of Ice and Fire definitely...but casting would be very hard.

Though people have suggested Brad Pitt for Jaime Lannister.

I'd love to see the Song of the Lioness series made into a movie. But they'll probably botch it like they did with Series of Unfortunate Events and make it into one movie instead of four. :(

Well, I like the Bartimeaus Trilogy, but I don't Holllywood.

    I, personally, should direct them.

    Ender's Game, Orson Scott Card.

I heard a long time ago that Wolfgang Peterson was attached to the adaptation... but nothing else has been said since

    What about this? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0409182/

Books: Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke. Stardust + American Gods + Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.
Though I can't find the article on RottenTomatoes to back me up.

Gibson's Neuromancer and the rest of the Sprawl trilogy!!!

The rest of the K-PAX trilogy as well. I bet you thought there was just one.

This next idea is a bit out there: A movie based on the hilarity and genius of The Daily Show's America: The Book. Ideas?

Isaac Asimov Foundation series. Turning those books into movies would be a very interesting project.

Give Dune the Peter Jackson treatment.

And The Catcher in the Rye if, and only if, it were done in a style similar to Martin Scorcese's "Taxi Driver." The structure of that movie is practically identical to Salinger's novel, and it ends up working (what an understatement).

    Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars Trilogy.

That series has some serious strife going on between its main characters: murder, deceit, abandonment - all on a martian scale with tons of cool, but believable machinery and technologies.

    Agreed. Dune+Peter Jackson=more Oscar gold.

The Mars Trilogy would rock. In fact I understand that it was optioned by Jim Cameron for a while.

Neverwhere needs a proper movie, the series on the BBC sucked. Sandman would make a great movie with Guy Pierce as Dream. I don't think they should make a Watchmen movie, it can't possible turn out good.

    They're remaking "The Poseidon Adventure"?

    Hmmmm...

I'd like to see Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Brother's Karamazov be made into a movie. It'd be hard, but it'd be interesting.

    And of course Ender's Game.
