Saga What does Dagobah/Coruscant/Endor/etc smell/feel like?

A comment in another thread reminded me of how often I employ my non-filmic senses when watching the films. To me, Dagobah is cold, a gray late autumn day at four-thirty in the afternoon. The Carbon Chamber feels like a dorm room I had, overly humid and stuffy.

Some locations would be fairly straightforward - Tatooine, Hoth. But others, I think, have room for interpretations. What are yours?

 

Do you consciously perceive these things in some manner; or is this what you will yourself to imagine?

Places in SW dont have smells, to me. But then, I think I have a weak sense of smell, in general (and us human beings, out of all the mammals, have particularly lousy olfactory equipment, these days, evolutionarily speaking).

 

They're just the impressions I get. I didn't have to consciously imagine the feel of those settings. I suppose it could be a form of synesthesia (if so, it's probably associated with the colors and lighting used in those shots). My numbers have 'preferred' colors and such, but I'm not sure if imagining the physical experience of a fictional environment counts... it's actually a good question/distinction, one I'd not thought of.

Though, I suppose I was asking for either conscious or unconscious impressions, in response... I guess some people might not have clear feelings on it, though considering that pretty much anyone could imagine what being on Hoth would feel like, I'd expect people to be able to imagine the less obvious places too.

Also, I don't have associated smells either. And I find them kind of hard to imagine in general...

 

Dagobah would smell exactly what it looks like - a manky, disgusting swamp. Public toilet mixed with a compost heap.

Coruscant I can imagine being a combination of various types of exhaust & cleaning agents fighting against each other, with the noxious fumes coming out on top - much like Tokyo.

Endor - think a normal forest with some added enhancements to emphasise its idyllic nature. Pine trees with pine tree air fresheners hanging off the branches.

Naboo - same as Endor, but with even more over-the-top fragrances. Waterfalls would actually smell like those ridiculous 'Waterfall' air fresheners, & animal farts would smell like fresh linen.

Mustafar - sulphur, burnt oil & barbeque.

Kamino - formaldehyde, ie. 'New Car Smell'.

Geonosis - who cares?

Tatooine - nothing, except that most people would be sweating something fierce.

Hoth - that faintly horrible, sweaty smell people give off in ski gear. Artificial fabrics mixed with BO.

Bespin - New Car Smell again

Bespin probably smells like ass.

 

I always thought Dagobah smelled like swamp...or heavy organic soil type smell. Old, but...natural. Kind of musty almost.

Coruscant I always imagined to smell like downtown Chicago. Anyone from the Chicago area would know what I mean by this I'm sure. Just an incredible mixture of smells...

I imagined endor to smell like the hiking trails I go on here in the mountains near the Denver area. Fresh, but piny, and a scent of earth. (and then a hint of metallic oil smell near the sheild generator station.)
