he eventually became a Moff, as noted in a line in the Incredible Cross Sections.

Did he turn evil, or was he simply given the rank and title?

Well you can see from his excitment in TPM when Palps is nominated that he is a very strong Palpatine supporter. I'm curious as to what his nephew Typho got up to post ROTS, I can see him blaming himself for Padme's death and resigning. Shame, he's cool.

He was probably just given rank and title. I don't think he's an evil moff though.

So Panaka is pretty much the Eva Braun of the star wars universe?

For some reason I can't see Tyho going along with the Empire. I can picture him as said, resigning after Padme dies. Afterwards I can imagine him either going Merc or possibly just settling down, not nessecarily on Naboo though.

Typho never came across as a very strong friend of the Jedi in the Phantom Menace when you think about it. He was always contradicting them and trying to keep the responsibility of protecting the Queen to himself.

i think you are confusing Panaka (in TPM) with Typho (in AOTC and briefly in ROTS)
Panaka didn't want to trust the Jedi with his responsibilities. Typho seemed more amenable to Jedi helping out in the senator's protection in AOTC.

Just because Panaka became a Moff doesn'e make him evil. It's the same old Panaka with the same loyalties. He's just now on the side of the 'bad guys' now. Typho I think wouldn't be as pleased with Palps and the Empire as his Uncle, and since Padmé died (under his watch I might add) he probably retired, or started training officers on Naboo or something.

I think Typho should have died defending Padme from Anakin in ROTS. But I've heard rumors that he'll be in the TV series...

Shame. Panaka spoiled the secret of Anakin and Padme's wedding to Palps. Shame on thee.

    I can't wait for the Panaka v. Typho duel on Mustafar . . .

Speaking of that-guys from Naboo, whatever became of Sio Babble. He probably suffered the farthest fate imaginable from Panaka's, eh?

So... when exactly did loyalty to the legitimate government and a successful career become evil qulalities?

Panaka: "You turned Naboo against me!"
Typho: "You have done that yourself!"

I think I'm interpreting legitemacy as being a government that looks after it's people.

But it would be so cool to see panaka on the bridge of an ISD....

If starting a war and nearly wiping out an entire order that had devoted itself to protecting the galaxy is legitimate, then sure the Empire's legit. I undersand that he was legally voted in, and legally given the power, but he was evil, and therefore opposing him would be far less evil than going along with him.

I would very much like to see a confrontation between Moff Panaka and rebel officer Typho. That would be a very interesting charcter story point that will probably never see the light of day, officially.

I don;t think that Typho would become a rebel. He may have his beef with the Emprie, but I doubt it would go as far as joining the rebellion. Although that Mustafar confrontation would be very interesting, since unlike Obi-Wan and Anakin, Panaka and Typho are actualy related.
