When it was still called the 3SA.

It seems this board was a whole lot more interesting before the film came out. I even miss flaming the n00bs.

    LOBSTERS!

Edit: And everytime something cool came out how we all had to go to MF.com, that was great.

My favorite times were when I first started posting....my knowledge of SW was high, so naturally I thought I could just jump right in.....then I began to notice Darth-Sinister coming behind me correcting me all the time. After a few PMs I realized that I was a small fish in a big big tank and that I would have to research my thoughts and take posting seriously. Casual fans look to these boards for knowledge....so we have a responsibility to make sure we do not pass on knowingly wrong or biased information. D-S taught me a lot and I'm glad to be here amongst what I consider the greatest fans on earth.

    When Bobthegoon left :p

Actually, I had a similar experience to COMMANDER76. When I first came on the boards, I didn't understand why every thread got locked so quickly and why redundancy on the boards was a problem

I learned about the way the boards worked, and then I started to appreciate what Bobthegoon was doing for the boards. I said some stupid things (and I still do), but I have learned so much about the saga from being on here. If I had to pick a favorite moment though, it would have to be after the first teaser trailer came out. Everyone was so giddy with excitement, except for a few killjoys who complained about that "CG is so fake" or "Hayden is ****" or whatever their lame complaint was.

So when am I going to get my BTH pic with lots of senators in Palpatine's office with Palpatine himself lurking in the background?

    EDIT: Other great memories:

    - The Back In Black Video

    - The Webcam Threads (all four of them, sadly no longer with us)

    - All that came with the webcam. Mace_Windoo, staying up in to the small hours all summer (UK time), the last day of filming, spotting GWL during the first few days, hoping to spot Vader on the last day (and failing), 'The Fight' feat. Knoll and Coleman, Bicycle Man, Darth Crane... this image:

Ah those Webcam threads remain my single most enjoyable time here are these wonderful forums.

Just reading this thread again has brought it all back. It was a GREAT couple of years, wasn't it? I really miss not coming here and getting my daily fix of Episode III (or Episode II info) and all the craziness that went with it.

I even miss moderating 3SA (I guess I'm a glutton for punishment) and all the crazziness that went with that. [face_laugh]

Great times. I'll look back at this period of my like with a lot of fondness and happiness, and it was you guys that made the "counting down" almost as fun as seeing the actual movie's. :)

I may have already brought this up in this thread - but that night (well it was the wee small hours of the morning here in the UK) some poor kid in Peru was being talked into sneaking a videophone into the cinema and recording the trailer for EP III - absolutely priceless.
I think that was when the frenzy was at it's peak - that really crappy, fuzzy video with dubbed dialogue from a different source was all over the place.
I watched it to death - I almost developed cateracts trying to make out recogniseable shapes.
    [face_laugh]

The whole Ternian, Spoileriffic stuff was cool too.

To all those who moaned for anyone who had spoilers to dump the whole lot - I, for one, loved the slow, steady drip feed.
I wouldn't have had it any other way.
    The specualtion was fun.

Mind you, Ewok Pudu gave us pretty much everything spot on all those many, many months ago...

Don't remind me about the trailers. What a nightmare us mods had over that! We fought for you guys, we really did, but in the end, the OS always had the final say when it came to "exclusive" Hyperspace content and 3SA. ;)

For me, it would have to be when George had Pablo turn the webcam this way:

    [image=http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/rplatan/Vaderglove-1step3image.jpg]

    We almost crashed the internet.

Also, "Prepare to soil thyself" and the release of the BIB video... That had to be the fastest moving thread I've ever seen.

An honorable mention is the DarkKnight fiasco... [face_laugh]

Heh - You make it sound almost... official.
I still watch it from time to time, and it still gives me goosebumps for some reason...

EDIT: Hang on, hadn't you better take that picture down...?

I can still remember how I found out about that pic. I was working in a bank during my summer vacation from University, and I came back home for lunch one day only to find my brother in absolute hysterics over something he'd seen on the webcam. He was desperate to tell me, but I had to get back to work and so decided to preserve to suspense until I got home at about 6:30pm that day. I spent all afternoon wondering what the exciting thind was going to be, and barely got any work done as a consequence. Needless to say, when I did find out by looking through the webcam thread version 1 (I still wouldn't let my brother spill the beans) i nearly fell off my chair. :D :p
