    Age limit?

I don't think there is one.
They are written for advanced readers so i would say anyone capable of reading them are old enough to be reading them.
I laso don't think they would appeal to a younger audience. Too boring.

I've observed that individual enjoyment of the series appears inversely proportional to reading/comprehension proficiency. Hope that helps.

They aren't happy books.... If you'd not let your kid read the New Jedi Order, you'd want to steer clear of the NJO and beyond- aside from the comics that is. Invasion and Legacy are more suited for younger readers but are more violent at times. But what SW comic isn't ;)

That's a diplomatic way to say that the more you understand what you're reading in this series, the less you enjoy it. [face_laugh]

Seriously though, I've never heard of a specific age limit on SW books like the movies age rating.

I haven't read the series yet, but I've read some samples. From what I've read, it is definately not for younger readers. They seem very dark and complicated.

Like, really not for younger readers. Although I cheered when Jacen died, I get the feeling most people were too depressed. Also, Jaina killing her own twin was pretty angsty, and the series in general was pretty dark.

Age limit? None. On starwars.com, though, I wrote a short posting about how it ripped off Evangelion, and Evangelion was TV-MA.

    Thats kind of you.

As for the question in the thread title, I would think that the material would likely be OK for a teenager in general. It does have multiple, detailed scenes of torture at its worst, things worse than say Leia or Han getting tortured offscreen in the films. Past that I don't think there is very much objectionable material.
