What is the difference between injection molded plastic, and something like vinyl (sp?)

I'm referring to the TIE helmets, i know some people (alot really) have had problems with warping of hte helmet, and they always refer to it as vinyl or rubber like, i was wondering if this was the same as injected molded plastic? or has there been some change in material used by rubies to make the helmets?

 

Having once worked in a plastic injection molding factory, I can tell you that there isn't only one type of plastic used in the process. you can injection mold all types of plastic from nylon, to urethane, to Styrene, to vinyl; you name it. It all depends upon what is being made.
