Yeah the E-wing and the Tie Defender are the strongest not the B-wing.

and of course, arent we forgeting the formidble effect that corral skippers had before the NR upgraded its own fighters?

Good speed, the ability to 'suck up' enemy fire and strip enemy shiedls with its black holes and this ih so nasty plasma cannons.

Corral Skippers really do kick arse . . . along as theres a yammosk about.

But yeah,. TIE Defender kicks arse.

It mostly depends on the pilot. The Jedi Starfighters in Episode III were a Top of the line starfighter, especially in the hands of a jedi pilot. The Arc- 170 was more along the lines of a B -wing, a Assualt Starfighter or a fighter bomber. The XJ3 X- wing has a slightly lower top speed than a E-wing, E-wing has 3 laser cannons to the Xwings 4, though the E-wings were more powerful than the standard. Supposingly the X-wing had stronger hull and shields. Tie Defemders on the other hand, were faster than a Xwing, about as fast a E-wing, maybe faster. But the A-wing is still the fastest production starfighter in the galaxy. The A-wing is a Interceptor type, not meant for prolonged dogfighting. The A-wing is best used by using the A-wing slash. K-wing are your Bombers or Heavy Assualt Starfighters, good for attacking cpaital ships, space stations and other large and/or hard targets. Chiss Clawcraft are almost as fast as a A-wing, but with 4 lasers to the A-wings 2. The A-wing has Concussion missle launchers, the Clawcraft has no missle launchers. Alas...it pretty much depends on the mission and the situation...and the pilot skill ;)
The best all around are; XJ3 X-wings, Series 4 E-wings and the latest generation Tie Defenders.

The XM-1 was developed specifically as a counter to the TIE Defender, meaning it (supposedly) takes advantage of the TIE Defender's weaknesses. Overall, the TIE Defender is more capable. In a head-to-head contest, yes, the XM-1 would (supposedly) win. But with each pitted against multiple and varied enemeies, I can't be sure it would fare so well.

The Missile Boat is also the best-looking starfighter out there. At least, in TIE or XWAUP--not in XWA or TIE95.

:confused:o_O[face_shame_on_you]You have got to be kidding.

I'd just like to point out for a fact that we do know that there are several different versions of the TIE Defender, as evidenced by the model show in Star Wars Rebellion, the shieldless model in Galactic Battlegrounds,

I'm not sure we can take Rebellion and GB too literally. In Rebellion, the TIE/df was without ion cannons (which instead the TIE Bomber had) and was slower than the TIE Interceptor. This, if not entirely a mistake, was probably done to give the player actual reasons for using anything but the TIE Defender.

Where did you get that info on the XJ wing? Even the NJO book makes little mention on its abilities.

Try checking some RPG stats. Even if you don't play the games, you can figure out how the stats translate elsewhere. For instance, a hull code stat in RPG is usually going to be the hull's resistance to damage. The greater the code, the more likely it is to resist damage. Meaning it's either got heavier armor or it's armor has been arranged in such a way to better resist damage. Or the armor itself has been improved in such a way to make it better at resisting damage while weight does not increase.

Not a word of the H-Wing?

    Does anyone here knows it?

Ok, it's quite a slow and big ship, but I love firepower of this bomber, as well its gunner tower...

    K-wing rocks as well!
