The day Star Wars drops an F-bomb is probably the day I step away from the franchise. Not because I'm some big prude who hates swearing, but because it's so antithetical to what SW is and what it should be. GL was always careful to keep his films (mostly) family friendly and appropriate to the target audience, and Disney should, too. SW is for kids and always should be, that's one of those things that makes it special and timeless. And not that there isn't room for experimentation with more grown-up fare like Andor, but if the franchise permanently sacrifices that aspect of its "personality" it will also lose that timeless quality. And that would be heartbreaking.
"Whore" is definitely a very non-PC description but it's not one of George Carlin's "seven words you can't say on television." Would I be okay with it in a Star Wars novel? I suppose. But I'm sure something better could have been used and it's not auto-censored at the boards here, if that says anything.
Any number of Star Wars monsters could inspire horror holos. (The Nameless of the High Republic have been pretty terrifying lately.) Also, ghosts, and zombies. I think there two Legends books that were basically zombie stories. There are also stories of the Sith that could be horrifying as well.
I’ll stand by words are words and it more matters what context it’s used in. I still think it is always okay to say **** fascism which is basically what was going to happen in Andor if it did.
Words are words, but context is also important. I don't think it's a great idea to say "**** fascism" in front of a little kid. There's no need. Sometimes limitations lead to creativity.
Rakghouls are pretty terrifying. Star Wars horror stories aren't even like ours, a lot of our horror movies are fiction based on folklore. Star Wars can often be living horror stories, just on a random given planet with Kaiju sized predators. Let alone actual dark evil in form of Sith and dark side Force users, creatures spawned of the dark side or of Sith experimentation.
A Jaws-tale involving the Sando Aqua Monster could be awesome; imagine a few Gungan sailors setting off with a team of Theed soldiers to takedown a gigantic specimen haunting around Naboo's waters. Heck, most of the abyssal creatures like the Opee and Colo Claw Fish are ripe for horror situations; maybe they're just the cream at the top of Naboos underwater horrors.
I guess I figured out what an inuniverse horror holo flick would be about... The entire GFFA universe is rebooted by a weird shadowy giant Mouse and the main character is the only one remembering the old timeline, nostalgic for it desperately trying to get it back. But the more elements of the old timeline seep into the new, the more the character doubts his sanity and is torn between realities. Trying to cope, he falls in love with a fellow character from the new timeline and starts a family.. until later he meets a stranger reaffirming he was right to believe the other timeline is the original one and they need to reset it. But that would mean loosing his current family and kids.. a terrible choice he now has to make, upon learning from the stranger that in the previous timeline, he too had a family and kids... different ones with a different partner. How will he decide? How will he stay sane? The stranger offers him the power of flowwalking, yet refuses to do it himself for he had travelled the timelines back and forth and not found his original one ever again thx to the Butterfly Effect, but claims it is not too late yet for the main character to return. Is he genuine or misleading the main character though? Time will tell..
