The only way for me to be appeased by a Wizard of Oz remake would be for the director to do a shot for shot remake with all the same music and cast of look alikes.

Considering current trends in remakes, I'd have to go ahead and say...

...all of them.

Ben Hur

There's a cartoon remake, even featured Charlton Heston's voice [face_laugh]

The Wizard of Oz

I wouldn't mind a 'Wizard of Oz' without the crappy overhyped 'Over the rainbow' song. Alas, I can the studios casting a pop-star as Dorothy and having her sing a hip-hop remake of this song. Which will make an already crappy song even more crappy!

[face_plain]

The Ten Commandments

Already has a remake called 'Prince of Egypt', a rather decent remake too IMHO, though I still prefer the original because I'm a Heston fan. That being said, I really hate the actress whose only function is to shout "Joshua!" in every bloody scene :p

Gone with the Wind

Remake or no remake, I just don't give a damn.

:p

Now if only there'll be a 'Dune' remake, but they'll have to wait ten more years since there's already the miniseries remake.

This thread was pretty cool, if I say so myself.

Think they'll ever remake Ghostbusters with a newer, hipper cast?

BTW, Evil Dead is getting remade.

I doubt you'd find anyone in Hollywood that would 'get' Brazil to be able to remake it.

Yup. What he said.

They need to remake Logan's Run

Bryan Singer is busy doing Superman Returns at the moment, and I do believe he is wanting to do a Logan's Run remake sometime thereafter. At least I think so.

But remakes continue to be the current trend in Hollywood. Especially for Horror movies. Old favorites like "The Fog" with Jamie Lee Curtis is being remade (with Tom Welling casted in one of the roles). Amityville Horror, and I do believe "Terror Train" (with Jamie Lee Curtis once again) is going to get the apparent remake.

All Quiet on the Western Front.
Yeah I realise there was a 80's remake but it sucked.

Oh and I would like to see Gallipoli remade. I know it wouldn't be a Hollywood remake (thank Christ) but gosh it'd be cool to see larger scale version of that film.
Don't get me wrong...BEST war movie in history.
