What movies should I rent on prom night?

I went to prom on junior year, but not my senior year.

I would have enjoyed prom more if the my cousin had told me that the girl she set me up with(from another high school) didn't have a boyfriend and/or told me ahead of time, so I could picked someone else to go with. That prom sucked hard, and not in a good way.

 

Seriously though, some people aren't into prom. Why should people feel obligated to go just because different people with radically different personalities consider it an important/fun experience?

There's value to be had in all experiences. Well, most of them.

My school didn't have anything like prom, but even if it did, I probably would have been reluctant to go. Nowadays, although I'm still not a prom-type person, I think it's worth giving those sorts of things a shot. If you've got friends there, it can't be total misery, and even if things don't go well you can speak of the prommery devilry from experience and write a Hell's Angels-style account of your time amongst the horde.

I didn't go to my Senior Prom. I told everyone: I'd rather stay at home and play Tony Hawk, which I did, and it was AWESOME.



I did however go to Senior Homecoming. It was fun. We barely danced, though. Mostly me and my date just talked. She's awesome, though.


So, basically, it can be fun. I suggest you go if you haven't gone to any other school dances. Just see what it's like.

 

know what our school senior prom theme was? Take a guess, it was in 1998, some movie was number 1 for weeks and we were in the midst of said movie mania when our prom happened. Still was a great night, but if I ever here that song again it will be too soon.

 

Oh, btw guys, I'm a junior, so if I decide that I MUST GO TO PROM, I can still go next year.

I might rent Eraserhead too, just for the hell of it.

 

Okay, so rent movies this year... BUT if you don't go next year Ima kick yo ass.

Ask me sometime, and I'll tell you about the time I skipped some dead shows to come home to go to prom with my homie.

 

OH! and rent Uncle Meat (the documentary about the unfinished Frank Zappa movie called Uncle Meat).

My buddy, he's a certified civilian pilot, tried to get permission to buzz prom in his tiny little Cessna last year... but control said no.
