I'd have to say Anakin's Betrayal was definatly one of the best scenes in the movie (OR Order 66 if you wish) I was most moved by the cues of that track during Ki-Adi-Mundi's death and Plo Koon's death, that and when Anakin drew his lightsaber against the children. John, did it perfectly it was the best, that and Battle of the Heroes really topped The Duel off. And hte Immolation Scene was great combined with Ewan's lines and the way he did it made it one of the best scenes in the movie. That and the ending of the movie, the 5 (Counting Yoda's) endings were great.

Order 66 is so heartbreaking, and the score that plays really adds to that. For new music, this was the piece that brought tears.

Rehashing the old school music, I was a mess the first time I saw ROTS and baby Luke with Beru & Owen as the Force theme played. That was classic, iconic stuff.

The Order 66 music is definitely amazing. When Anakin is standing on the balcony on Mustafar and the tear is in his eye the music is amazing. My 2 favorite musical moments however are...

The opening shot when it pans down to see the Star Destroyer and we hear the drum beats, like heartbeats, then the 2 ships appear and the up tempo version of the classic theme plays, just building and building. My other favorite is during the final duel when Obi-Wan and Anakin are climbing that thing (the part where they swing on the cables) and the full Battle of the Heroes chorus kicks in. Amazing stuff.

I love this soundtrack. However, it hurts to lsiten to it because it makes me feel so sad.

I completely agree. It's tough to listen to, especially the last half.

DOTF is still my favorite music in the whole PT, so I'll have to vote for that. But, Padme's ruminations comes in a close second. That's my favorite scene in the movie, so the music by default is high on my list. Also, the Order 66/Jedi Purge music is heart-breaking. And the binary sunset/Force Theme at the end is great too. It's funny, that scene put a huge smile on my face the first time I saw it. But, the second time it choked me up. Third time it was back to smile. Go figure...

"Order 66" has some of the greatest music of the Saga.

When Grevious arrives on Utapau, with the chrous chanting. Awesome stuff!

"Battle of the Heroes" is one of the greatest tracks of the Saga also.

My favorite track is Anakin's betrayal (order 66)

One thing I would like to say by the way : I think JW score is not loud enough in the movie. At some places, the movie is just too quiet.

Watch the OT again and you will see how loud and important JW tracks are. In ROTS, its like the sound effets take too much place.

I hope they edit it a little for the DVD.

I think the best scene had no music at all.

All we hear is a mechanical woosh of air and a click.......

    ..........a suction sound......

And then the first breath of Darth Vader is taken.

    priceless.

In the film there are two places that got to me the most (both of which had Anakin crying)

    1) Padme and Anakin looking through the windows: it was when Anakin was hearing Palpatine telling him that if the Jedi destroyed him, he would never gain the knowledge to save Padme - you knew at that moment that Anakin (with a tear falling down his cheek) had already made the decision to embrace the dark side.

    2) Anakin on the balcony looking over Mustafar: Again Anakin is crying because he realizes there is no going back to what he was. He wanted the power to save Padme and yet he still wanted to be a Jedi.

On the soundtrack I can't get enough of Battle of the Heroes, Anakin vs Obi-Wan, and Anakin's Dark Deeds. I'm going to wear those places out on my CD (in fact I have 2 copies of the CD/DVD combo) I watch "A Hero Falls" on the DVD everyday for the visuals as well as the sound.

Without a doubt, the use of "Anakin's Betrayal" during the execution of Order 66 was brilliant. Exciting and dramatic music would NOT have relayed the emotion that this did.

Same can be said about the "Immolation Scene" when Obi-Wan severs Anakin's legs. It could have had a brash musical number but instead, it went into a somber transition which was incredibly powerful.

Overall, the way the music is used (even the recycled stuff) was very effective. Instead of gratuitous renditions of the Imperial March, sad and meloncholy tunes are used in the right spots to give the film a feeling unlike the other movies.

+ The Opening Sequence Battle music (which Star Wars score is this from since it's not on the soundtrack)
+ The Crash Landing Sequence (I know, it's from the Phantom Menace)
+ Grievous's music that plays as he gets off of his ship on Utapau.
+ The music playing when Anakin in Temple and Pamde in her room
    + Order 66 (Anakin's betrayel)
+ The music played as his shows the carnage Anakin caused in the Seperatists control room
    + Battle of the Heros

Out of all of them, I'm going with Anakin's Betrayel (Order 66). Especially during Ki-Adi and Aayla's death.

There are so many. I liked the music for the hairbrush scene. Somewhat sad, foreshadowing. I also liked the order 66 scene and the death of Padme/birth of Vader.

yes order 66 was good. but i think the bit for me was the very opening of the movie. the loud pounding, you see obiwan and anakins ships flying side by side. and that music sounds so heroic and gripping. its like here are these two jedi, who many people know, and here they come , a force to be reckoned with. sheeesh i cant explain my feelings too good, but thats the music scene that i like the best

I loved how Anakin's Betrayal played in a more subtle fashion during the Mustafar landing platform conversation.

The scene when Obi Wan and Padme are talking. Obi Wan says Anakin is the father isn't he I"m so sorry. The music played for that scene I thought was perfect.

    And
The music with the Babies at the end.
The music played to Obi Wan vs Anakin duel.
The music in the very begining after the scroll.

    The infamous Order 66.

Seriously, besides the Kenobi/Skywalker duel this is the most talked about scene with my friends. Its just breathtaking to see and hear.

Anakin's Dark Deeds and the Immolation Scene were by far the best, moving-wise.. however nothing can top the goosebumps and nostalgia of when the horn flares the Binary Sunset in the last few moments of the film. GREAT stuff, John!

Two places where the score really moved me:

    1. Like so many people on this board, the Order 66 sequence. Haunting.

    2. The score playing underneath Obi-Wan's visit to Padme to find out where Anakin is. It plays to what is really the beginning of broken hearts for both of them. When Obi says, "Anakin is the father, isn't he... I am so sorry," the music under that is just chilling to me.

The music at the beginning of The Duel is breathtaking and actually CARRIES The Duel, even though the lightsaber battle is remarkable. Due to the music of The Duel, the Yoda/Palpatine fight is a step down in in intensity.

Man is that scene powerful as Anakin and Obi Wan go at it on the landing platform and fight into the control room where all of the bodies of Anakins latest victims lay.
