If you all don't put Anakin's Betrayel (Order 66) in your list, you obviously most not have liked the movie. Or you could have been taking a piss break.

Ha ha! Williams did E.T. "Raiders" and "Empire" all around the same time.('79-82) His soundtracks do influence each other. Superman is in there somewhere too. Good point about Yoda's escape pod looking like E'T's, I thought that too. Even the scenery was similar.

The music was really low-key throughout the movie, and hardly noticeable, except during the Padme rumination scene and the Temple invasion scene both of which were memorable.

What moved me the most though, was Princess Leia's theme playing on doomed Alderaan as Organa and his wife cuddle the baby.

I was moved the most when Padme was shown sitting in her apartment and Anakin was sitting in the council room. Beautiful score,

The other part that really got me was the Jedi execution scene. Words cant do it justice.

Obviously the end shot, but also when Obi-Wan says "Anakin is the father isn't he? I'm so sorry."

It was all good stirring stuff but like a lot of others it was the fragments from the original trilogy which really got to me. Darth Vader's theme and Leia's theme in particular gave me goosebumps.

anakin vs. obiwan (incredible piece of music really emotional and really moved me.)

and duel of the fates in yoda vs. sidious duel (i love that piece and to see it in one of the best star wars duels ever was awesome, it went so well with the duel itself.)

For me, there were two major segments:

    1. The eradication of the Jedi. With Williams' music, I was almost moved to tears. Almost.

    2. The "funeral" music that played over the juxtaposition of Vader's rebirth and the birth of the twins, and the immediately subsequent funeral for Padme (That Japor snippet! What a way to lure some tears out! ;)).

I like how Duel of the Fates came in a little bit during the Obi-Wan/Anakin fight...wish there had been a bit more than was there tho. I'm not too much a fan of the BOTH theme, however. The music for the twins was good, as well as the music/ambience-whatever while Padme and Anakin are cross-cut before Anakin's fall. Especially where it ends with the shot of the cityscape at sunset. I found that to be really powerful, and the music made it all the better. Even tho as music goes it was very simple.

Gosh, I absolutely love the soundtrack, I think it made the movie so much better.

The "Order 66", "Immolation Scene", "Anakin's Dark Deeds" and the "Padme's Destiny" (ironically also used for Vader's birth) are simply beautiful.

I loved the way John Williams snuck in pieces of the 1977 soundtrack too.

"Immolation Scene" is one of my fav tracks because it seems similar to Williams' stuff from Oliver Stone's movie, "JFK." JFK is one of my favorite movies. ROTS and JFK seem to be very similar, and there are lots of story parallels, so I thought the music was fitting. It kind of has a "tragic fall of a noble ideal" thing going for it. Now I sorta see ROTS as "JFK for Kids" or "JFK for Dummies".

I saw JFK when I was only 8. It was the first 3 hour movie I sat through. Till this day I love that movie.

Even as a kid that movie had me very intrigued, and curious.

"Back and to the Left, Back and to the Left"

Those words were like a strange revelation to me at a young age that what we blindly accept for Mass Truth can easly start off as small Lies.

    The 'Padme's Ruminations' scene
    Order 66
Anakin, Padme and Obi Wan on Mustafar (uses similar or same music to the 'Order 66' scene)
The more I hear/see it, the more I like 'Battle Of The Heroes'. And I loved it in the first place.
I love how the music heard in the 'Theatre' scene is listed on the CD as 'Palpatine's Teachings'. You're not sure whether it's heard by all the theatre-goers, or if it's soundtrack...

My one complaint of the soundtrack? The lone drum beat as the film opens is missing (though it is contained within track 1)

And the extended end credits on the CD actually brings a tear to the eye

i really loved the piece "Anakin's Dream" tragic and foreshadowing, the violin over the Across the Stars theme, friken awesome!

then when the scene and music moves to the massive balcony and Anakin tells Padme she will die in childbirth, that moved me a bit on second viewing of the movie coz you could see his fear of losing her yet knew he would ultimately bring it about, so sad (

Immolation scene when Obi-wan is talking to Anakin, wow, moved me.

    ? Anakins Dark Deeds.

Zelmo, I totally agree. The music builds up as Padme says 'your going to kill him arent you?' and then just as Obi Wan says 'Im so sorry' the music reaches its high point. Very emotional.

    ? Padme's ruminations.

Great music simply because its so 'un-star wars' like!

    ? Anakins Betrayal.

The music when Obi Wan and Boga fall into the water, and for some reason, the death of Boga and the water landing are such a powerful moment combined with the music. And then to see poor Ki-Adi being slaughtered and the other Jedi is so sad.

    ? Anakins Immolation.

One of the best moments I believe because it takes its cue from the playful 'Anakins Theme' of TPM and turns into into a tragic score as he 'dies'. Brilliant score. Listen to Anakins Theme from TPM and then The Immolation' scene and you will see the similarity in the first few notes.

    Great musical bridging from Williams.

when Anakin was marching into the Jedi Temple, and they used the "Love Pledge/The Arena" song from AOTC. if there was ever a time to re-use that song, it was that scene.

also the scene when "Padmé's Ruminations" was being played. that song is amazing.

and of course, when Order 66 is being carried out by the clones and "Anakin's Betrayal" is playing. so moving, in a sad, depressing kind of way.

i am a big fan of John Williams music in all the star wars its actally the kind of music it needed i bought the soundtrack before i saw the film and my favourite tunes were Anikin v Obi Wan and the battle of heroes.
