    I think it's a female goose, or some type of bird that's a lot like a goose.

    A gander is to take a look at something. Eg: Take a gander at this blue spotted pig. If you want to know so bad why dont you look at a dictionary?

    I'm more confused as to why it's good for both. I mean, wouldn't geese and ganders have different needs? I do not like the inherent fallacy of that statement.
