Whew! My first Star Wars story! I hope it won?t be the last!

Disclaimer: Once upon a time a guy named George invented Star Wars. He?s a pretty famous director nowadays, you might have heard of Mr. Lucas. =D Anyways, the characters and stories he thought up are his. I?m borrowing them. THE END. ;-)

Summary: Takes place the day of the big celebration on Naboo after The Phantom Menace. Anakin is still 9, Padme, or rather, Queen Amidala, is still 14. Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi have not left for Coruscant yet. The title kinda makes the plot obvious. Later on I have the setting and time change, but I?ll make that known when the time comes.

P.S. It might help (a whole lot) if you have seen all of Episodes I and II, and maybe have seen them more than once or twice.

What Was Almost the First Kiss

    Chapter One

Obi-Wan had looked at him only some moments ago, offering support through his eyes. But he still had felt a little scared, a feeling he definitely did not enjoy, despite the act of encouragement. He could only look away without smiling back. He easily fixed his attention on someone else, who did improve his mood, if only just by the sight of her.

?What a fitting choice,? Anakin Skywalker thought, as he stood in front of a group of delegates, Jedi, and dignitaries. Beside him, Artoo was on his right, and his new Jedi Master Obi-Wan was on his left. But they did not hold his attention, and they did not capture his thoughts. He looked upon Queen Amidala, or Padme, as he liked to call her. Some regal headdress did not hide her rich brown hair; her white gown flowed in the breeze around her. ?Yes, what a fitting choice for a ceremonial outfit,? Anakin thought to himself, looking over her simple yet elegant white dress. ?Let the galaxy see the angel that she is. The angel that I see everyday.?

Her eyes were bright as stars and her entire face beamed with happiness to see her people in front of her celebrate the freedom she had worked so hard to get back. Some tossed flower petals from open windows in buildings; ribbons were tied around street poles and were flapping furiously in the wind. Banners of red and gold covered buildings, and children were laughing as their parents held them up on their shoulders to see the view. The entire square was full of color and life. If there were any tears today, they would be tears of happiness. Anakin watched as Padme?s smile seemed to grow even wider, a movement that he thought had been impossible a few seconds ago.

He turned his attention back to the ongoing procession down the street coming towards them, and away from the glowing girl a few feet away from him. It was a difficult task. She had left the side of Sio Bibble, who had been next to Obi-Wan, and Chancellor Palpatine a few moments ago, and had just come into his line of view again. But he couldn?t keep his eyes off her. He realized quickly why she had stepped forward and broken their line of four people and a droid a few minutes ago as he looked down the street.

The Gungan ruler, Boss Nass, was approaching. Padme took the glittering blue globe from Sio Bibble and slowly handed it to the Gungan. Anakin watched with great interest as he raised it above his head, shouting loudly, ?PEACE!!? Anakin watched the thunderous reaction of yells, cheers, and applause coming from the Nubians and the Gungans. He felt great pride in knowing that he had made an extreme contribution in order to secure their freedom from the Trade Federation. The back of Padme?s upper gown right behind her head, a kind of thin canvas material,
    ?angel?s wings?
blocked Anakin?s view of her, but suddenly it was moving, turning. He held his breath as the angel turned to look directly at him. He immediately flashed her a confident grin, his eyes twinkling.

Padme, not Queen Amidala, looked back at the young boy. She unveiled her real self momentarily, allowing the regal attitude slip away. ?He is so young, yet so brave and steady at the same time,? Padme thought. She had new respect for Ani since his heroic attacks duri

The nine year-old boy inside of him shouted, ?Yippieee!!?

The twenty year-old man inside of him moaned with yearning.

Speaking of being stalked lol! I reviewed this on FF.net and I'm happy to do it here as well. Excellent story and I plan to copy this with the few changes you added. I meant to do it on FF.net but it completely slipped my mind. This is still one of the best stories I've read since being introduced to fan fiction. I hope you get more reviews on this. I'll be looking for more SW stuff from you in the future. Great job!!

    Hi, Aristo-nobi,

What a beautiful story! You've really captured Anakin's and Padme's emotions and thoughts. I thought your characterizations were wonderful.

I loved this piece. It's touching, sweet, funny, and haunting all at the same time. It just breaks my heart that Anakin and Padme won't have a happy ending.

    Please do write more.

That was an awesome story. The way you describe things with such detail and emotion was wonderful. I love also the part where that look Obiwan was giving them would not be the last, was great.
