What was Dooku's first name?

It's not important, I just realised that even though he is my favourite charecter I don't even know his name.

There has never been an official answer to that question. "Jard" and "Jaris" have floated around before, but chances are they were created by "you know who".

Actually I don't think his name was ever mentioned, not even in EU Materials, right?

 

I recall reading somewhere he's named Count Jard Dooku of Serrano. Jard should be his forename then however I don't know this source is worthy of our trust. I like Jaris better actually.

Just be glad he was a count instead of a duke! Duke Dooku would have been too much, even for Lucas. Dooku is the Sith Lord is almost Dookie is the Sh-t Lord--is this significant?

 

The name of his homeplanet is Serenno. I don't think he has a first or last name, actually. Like Yoda and Palpatine, he only has one name.

Many say that "Darth" was actually Vader's real first name back in the OOT because Obi Wan says "Only a master of Evil Darth." If that's the case then Anakin's line: "My powers have doubled since the last time we met Count" means that yes, his first nameis in fact, Count.

 

Except "Darth" is an alien name, while Count is an earth word which everyone knows; when Anakin calls Dooku "count" everyone knows it is his title. The first Darth Vader character in draft one was not a sith lord, he was a general--when he was called Darth it was obvious that it was his first name. But this is kinda off topic anyway.
