Hey, the Playbill wasn't shy about where she'd come from. Although my brother was kind of disappointed that she still seemed too young to play the role; but her singing more than made up for the looks IMO.

I saw Sunset Boulevard the musical this weekend. It was a lot of fun, and some cool stuff with cameras to give certain scenes the feel of a classic Hollywood film. Nicole Scherzinger was phenomenal as Norma Desmond, both as an actor and a singer. It had a lot of great uses of lighting to create silhouettes. There was also a fun bit of the main actor walking outside the theatre to sing a song.

    An Inspector Calls.

So , yeah, I've been aware of this play pretty much my whole life, its a classic, but somehow I'd never seen it.

well now I have. ok yes it was on the BBC iplayer, so a bit of a cheat, but yeah, it is excellent.

can't say anything about it , spoilers etc.

    just watch it FFS!

Murder on the Orient Express, in Bath. I already knew the ending but it was a superb performance. They had a rotating stage with an assembled train carriage that they could transform into either the corridor or individual cabins on the train, the effect was very good. All the actors were great, particularly Christine Kavanagh (who I knew from Doctor Who: Timelash) as Mrs Hubbard, a brash and flirtatious American. I do love a good murder mystery play, something about the intimacy of a stage really lends itself to those stories. Though perhaps next time I’ll go see a story I don’t know the solution to :p
