Jabba, Nute, and Boba all represent corruption.

Jabba is the embodiment of organized crime.

Nute is the embodiment of the unchecked capitalism.

Boba is the embodiment of indifference.

Jabba is a courtesism of all the sins of major religions.

Nute is the embodiment of greed and cowardcy.

Boba Fett represents the broken and dangerous man. Pure Apathy and business.

In the "Empire of Dreams" documentary it was also said that Jabba the Hutt stood for the corrupt commercial film "boss", being fat and ugly.

Lording over a backwater planet that is out of the jurisdiction of the Republic/Empire is a poor analogy to corrupt commericial film bosses. Commercial film bosses tend to be in the spotlight, hogging camera time and taking public glory. Jabba didn't seem to get out much. I could see neimodians representing this type of person.....but Jabba? I think Lucas went a little bit overboard in his documentary. ;)

Nute gunray and Boba Fett are cousins. Also, Jabba the Hut sells great pizza.

Jabba also sort of represents Han's past, which finally catches up to him. When he's freed from Jabba's clutches, he finally completely embraces his future: a firm committment to the Rebellion.

Jabba doesn't just lord over Tatooine, he just lives there most of the time. And by the time of the OT Tatooine is at least a territory of the empire.

Yeah, but that doesn't meant that the Hutts don't run it. Tarkin let 'em as it stopped him posting a governor there.

As for the symbolic meaning, Jabba represents what happened to Luke's home when he returned after being away even though we know Jabba was there running the place since TPM even if he was on Nal Hutta sometimes.

Right, I agree. The Empire might have nominally had control over Tatooine, at least enough that no one gave them any trouble when they wanted to dispatch stormtroopers there to find the droids. But the Hutt crime syndicate was still the shadow government of Tatooine. Jabba is a mafioso, basically. If you want to compare him to a real-life figure, think of Tammany Hall and Boss Tweed.

I wanna hear more about unchecked capitalism. I assume the answer to said "problem" is more government. Er, by which I mean more Palpatine.

IIRC Biggs was saying to Luke in the deleted scene in ANH how the Empire was making more moves towards supposed "backwater" planets. Luke didn't agreem saying the Empire wouldn't bother them much but Biggs pointed out how there's two things that are never satisfiedL curiosity and greed and there wasn't much the Empire was curious about.

In Dante's Inferno Jabba would represent gluttony - 3rd Circle. Nute would represent greed and tereason - 9th Circle. Boba would end up in 7th or 8th circle among Violent and Malicious.

Boba Fett was that last true Mandalorian. He was not a true clone, he was the pure blood of his father Jengo and the Mandalorian ancestory. And he never died in Tatooine either.....
Nute is a different species, but if you look at the ROTJ, you will see their species but in a human form which is kinda funny.....
