CT When did Leia & Solo fall in love?

At what point in the saga did they have a romantic attraction? Love at first glance or perhaps it was after Han came back to help Luke. He was like a real hero at that point. Could have begun around this time.

Maybe it was in the Asteroid Field. Don't know how long they were in the Asteroid for so with Chewbacca & C-3PO as company their passions for each other really started up. Another possibility was only when their lives were truly in mortal peril that their feelings came to surface. The torture scene on Cloud City.

 

I think Han fell for Leia immediately in Star Wars when he saw that she was a tough intelligent woman. I think that Leia was immediately attracted to him then. I'm not sure that it was love at first site for her, though.

 

I think it kind of happened off-screen. Immediately Han seemed to be attracted to her, but it didn't seem serious until the beginning of Empire when he acted all jealous towards Luke for the kiss.

For Leia, I think it was when Han went out to save Luke. Sure before she may have had a crush, but when he saved Luke, all heroic like that, I think she really fell for him.

You know they were both imagining that 'goodbye kiss' in their heads. Both just too stubborn to go for it.

 

They were put together in stressful situations and it was not perfect love as they did fight a lot.

Leia was never attracted to Han until Endor. When Han slipped her some Ewok roofies. Seriously, the Ewoks had the best stuff. They never blink!

 

Han tries to flirt with Leia in ANH and is at least somewhat impressed by her, too, but didn't seem that attached at the time. In ANH, Leia seems mostly frustrated, although she gets some respect for him at the end.

I took it that they started falling for each other between the movies, since by ESB, they clearly already have (albeit Leia is refusing to say so).

 

What about the South Passage on Hoth

 

Weren't they already in love before they went to the South Passage?

 

There were three years between ANH and TESB. Safe to say they interacted in that time.

 

There was some nice Moonlighting style tension in the first film, which was expanded on in the second one. Being in major traumatic situations (such as an ongoing war) tends to bring people together, too. The implication in ESB was that it had been building for a while.

Also, people tend to want what they can't have. For Han it was probably right away because he was a scoundrel and she was a princess. For Leia, it was when he was frozen in carbonite and taken by Fett. Yes, I'm kidding.

 

I think Han loved Chewie more to be honest.

 

That one look she gives him on Hoth, I often sort of imagine that her looking at him and internally denying her feelings to herself

It's most likely something gradual that's built up in the years between ANH and TESB

 

Which look we talking about? Where they make eye contact when Han tells the general that he needs to resign, something from the west passage scene, or something else?

 

Yeah but that's when the "true feelings" happened.

But on a serious note, won't this be explained in the comics?

 

I think there was an instant attraction between Han and Leia when they met on the Death Star in ANH. I don't mean to the point of love at first sight, but a strong attraction. I think Leia started falling for Han when he returned during the DS battle to help Luke. She kind of has a look on her face when she gives Han the medal. As far as for Han, I think it was off screen when he started falling for Leia, which I believe also added to the tension between them, as Leia had unrequited feelings for a time before Han started developing or even showing feelings for Leia.

 

Maybe. Leia does look sincerely impressed when Han charges the stormtroopers (the "He certainly has courage moment") and her earlier comment that he had to be brave to fly around in the ship he did didn't seem entirely facetious, so she could've been building on something.

As far as I can tell, it seems like a lot of material (canon and otherwise) seem to suggest that Han was trying to get her attention pretty early on (albeit most post-ESB stuff could be focusing on that since trying to pull the original Luke-Han-Leia triangle dredges up the creepy idea of two siblings having the hots for each other), so I kind of got the idea that he was falling for her from the first movie on, too.

 

It's been so frigging long since I've seen it, but the one in particular I'm thinking of (I believe Han's talking to Rieekan) involves her looking over her shoulder behind her

 

Okay, I know which bit you're talking about. I could see her "internally denying her feelings to herself" in that moment.
