    Never seen this show, so I have no idea who this flaming nutbar is.

    I never watched the show either; from what I've been able to determine Cameron got to rule the roost as he did because he was the most popular cast member (or at least the most visible, being feautured in all the teen magazines etc). It finally got the point where the producers quit the show because they were sick to death of him but couldn't get rid of him (it was cancelled the following year).

    To give Cameron a bit of credit though, he did (year later) apologise for his behaviour and admitted he had been immature (ie. a big massive giant douche).

    You're lucky if you haven't heard of him Zaz - if curiosity gets the better of you you can try searching for him on YouTube (bonus points if you want to search for his mate Ray Comfort as well) Be warned, you brain will probably implode, especially if you see their 'banana' video. :oops::oops::oops:

    Jaleel White
    Notable Role: Family Matters

    Then:
    [image=http://www.nndb.com/people/008/000025930/urkel.jpg]
    Debuting back on September 22nd 1989, a little show known as Family Matters took the airwaves by storm, becoming the second-longest-running U.S. sitcom with a predominantly African-American cast. The show also gave birth to the ultimate nerd. Draped in plaid, suspenders and pants pulled up to his rib cage, Steve Urkel took comedy to a new plateau.

    Now:
    [image=http://static.thehollywoodgossip.com/images/gallery/jaleel-white-picture_378x513.jpg]
    White has lost the nerdy suspenders and is still acting. You can spot him as a talent booker in the movie 'Dreamgirls.' He is also looking to make a return through the help of the Internet as he is working on his web-series, Fake It Til You Make It.

    I watched Family Matters in its earlier seasons - Urkel was quite an amusing character at first, unfortunately due to his sudden popularity the entire show would ultimately be tilted around him as the primary character. Then it sucked. Not to mention as he got older it was getting harder for White to convincingly look the nerd - he looked quite buff.

    Glad he's still working - imagine being typecast as Steve Urkel?

    I think once urkel shed the nerd look and buffed up a bit, it was rather easy for him to make the transformation to other roles. I mean, those pictures look nothing alike!

    Jonathan Brandis
    Notable Role: seaQuest DSV

    Then:
    [image=http://kamikazeegirl.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/jonathan-brandis.jpg]
    Jonathan Brandis became a teen heartthrob in the early '90s with his role on the sci-fi TV series 'seaQuest DSV.' He also starred in a handful of films, such as 'The Never-Ending Story 2'.

    Now:
    [image=http://withfriendship.com/images/c/12510/Jonathan-Brandis-pic.jpg]
    But the young actor met a tragic end: after suffering from depression, Brandis took his own life in 2003 at the age of 27.

    I watched seaQuest - I actually found his character annoying (the 'Wesley Crusher' of the series), and the 2nd 'Never-Ending Story' film kind of sucked. Still, a very sad way to end a life. :(

    The difference between Wesley and Lucas is Weslry routinely demonstrated a broader grasp of the ship's systems than the Chief Engineer and Science Officer, who's basically a walking encyclopedia.

    That's true - my comparison between Lucas and Wesley is more in the broader terms of 'smart kid on ship hanging out with the grownups'. In Lucas' case however it's more inexplicable considering that (unlike the Enterprise-D) the seaQuest crew didn't take their families onboard with them (from memory, the explanation given for his presence was that his father was wealthy/powerful and decided to put his kid on the ship so he didn't have to take care of him following his divorce from Lucas' mother).

    Getting back to the list, any interest in it continuing? I've actually already gone through 2 separate lists so far (there was a bit of crossover between them, plus one featured a few Australian stars who nobody outside our country would have heard of). I might be able to drag some more stuff from yet another list but it's admittedly more of a clip show without any real info.

    Brandis was better as Bastion in TNES2 than the other kid in the original, even if the original was the better movie. His dad in that movie also played The Flash on TV :-B.

    Though his seaQuest role was his most prominent, he was also in that Karate Kid ripoff movie, Sidekicks, with Chuck Norris, which was actually a pretty fun family flick that sorta spoofs both Karate Kid and Norris's career.

    Oh man, that video had me rolling in laughter, as did this Nick DiPaolo-looking guy's response

    I remember Sidekicks - a bit of a silly film but fun enough (I saw it as a teen) and I kind of like the moral of the story (instead of imagining yourself being cool and awesome try and take control of your life and make something of it).

    Good pickup on Bastian's father (John Wesley Shipp) in NES2 - he also played Dawson's father on the teen series Dawson's Creek; I had completely forgotten his role here.

    And speaking of NES2, I have to link to the Nostalgia Critic's review of the film (Part 1, Part 2) - he even gets to one-up his 'I'm awesome' joke from his Captain N review. [face_laugh]

    Macaulay Culkin
    Notable Roles: Home Alone 1 & 2, My Girl, The Good Son, Richie Rich

    Then:
    [image=http://tvrecappersanonymous.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/macaulay_culkin1.jpg]
    Despite a tumultuous home life growing up, Macaulay Culkin seems to have turned out just fine.

    Now:
    [image=http://images.blippitt.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/macaulay-culkin.jpg]
    The 'Home Alone' actor won critical praise for his role as a wheelchair-bound teen in the Christian values satire 'Saved.' He's also a published author.

    I think this list is a bit old - Saved came out in 2004. His most recent role was in the TV series Kings in 2009.

    Looking over his filmography what surprises me is that, considering just how famous and well-known he was, his time in the limelight was altogether fairly brief - he made it big in the original Home Alone yet he pretty much left the whole acting game less than 4 years later (and after a string of flops) and didn't return for a whole decade.

    His Daddy Dearest basically scuppered his career; not many people wanted to deal with him.

    I was gonna come in here and say that he's not doing too bad since he's been dating the fairly awesome Mila Kunis for 8 years.

    Then I did some fact checking and found out that there was an announcement today that the relationship is over.

    So I guess he could be doing better.

    Ha, I was going to say the same thing. Except I didn't fact check and see they'd broken up.

    Also, going back to Mayim Bialik, she's currently got a recurring role as Amy Ferrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory. Basically, she's the female Sheldon.

    Christina Ricci
    Notable Roles: The Addams Family, Addams Family Values, Casper, The Opposite of Sex, Sleepy Hollow, Monster

    Then:
    [image=http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_VpsXU1UQibc/SDqKpLEBdjI/AAAAAAAAAI8/SKR9gvMUbPM/s320/Christina-Ricci-1990.jpg]
    First appearing as Cher's youngest daughter in 'Mermaids', Christina Ricci hit the big time when her serious expressions as a 10-year-old made for a perfect portrayal of Wednesday Addams in 'The Addams Family' movie.

    Now:
    [image=http://deepwarriors.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Christina-Ricci.jpg]
    Ricci's grown up to be a glamorous Fashion Week fixture with a thriving film career who still gravitates towards dark and quirky roles in movies such as 'Black Snake Moan' and 'Penelope'.

    I thought she was on the verge of becoming a big star following films such as The Opposite of Sex and Sleepy Hollow in the late 90s, but it didn't seem to eventuate. Most of her roles these days seem to be more indie fare.

    Ricci is incredibly fortunate to have survived being a child actor. She's worked steadily for 20 years and hopefully has invested her big movie paychecks in a way that will keep her comfortable for the rest of her life and let her make small movies for many more years.

    She was completely unrecognizable in Speedracer. Good for her that she can still stick to the more experimental films.

    Natalie Portman
    Notable Roles: The Professional, Mars Attacks!, Star Wars Prequels, Garden State, Closer, V for Vendetta, The Other Boleyn Girl, Black Swan

    Then:
    [image=http://freespace.virgin.net/b.world/Natalie_Portman_1.jpg]
    Natalie Portman showed promise from the get-go with a mature turn as a tween assassin in 'The Professional' (1994).

    Now:
    [image=http://ic.maxabout.com/Celebrities/hollywood/actress/Natalie_Portman/Natalie_Portman_150408_826.jpg]
    Portman is celebrated as both an actress and a braniac - she has an undergraduate degree from Harvard.

    Obviously came to big attention with the prequels, but seemed to lose the limelight to her double (literally) Keira Knightley. Fortunately she's been winning recognition for a few of roles in recent years (including the recent Black Swan). She's also due to star in Thor.
