In the end of AOTC when Mace, Obi-Wan and Yoda are talking in the council chamber, Yoda's chair is the only one in the room! Where did the other ones go? Did they just get done doing the floor?

This is the Jedi Council Chamber; the missing chairs are meant to imply the deaths of many Jedi, though which ones lived and died is kept vague to keep possibilities open for Episode III. - Ep2 DVD Text Commentary from dvd.starwars.com site.

That's what my sister always asks me when she watches the movie and I keep saying "I don't know there are tons of reasons." Maybe they were getting some new chairs installed that we might see in Ep.III. That would be cool.

They removed them as a symbolism thing. Plus, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Mace were having a relaxed conversation, not having a serious meeting. The chairs and the Council was not needed.

Dangit, people post too fast. :p
