He said Return of the Jedi. Who knows, he probably just moved on or was somewhere else at the time.

Why would Darth Maul need to know though? He was a great fighter no doubt and was far from a fool but palpatine clearly saw him as just some muscle to execute his plans and do his dirty work.

Palpatine sees most of his apprentices in that light. As for why he would need to know, he wouldn't need to, but when your master has a public persona as a politician, it would be difficult to not put two and two together.

No Jedi until Dooku called Palpatine master , and by the time Anakin and Mace knew his identity, it was too late for it to make a difference.

Because the Emperor had already won. All Obi-Wan could do was try to correct a fatal mistake.

The thing is, Obi didn't listen to Dooku when he should've his own grave mistake.

Dooku wasn't trying to save the galaxy from Sidious when he told Obi-Wan about him- he was trying to corrupt Obi-Wan.

"Joined the Dark Side, Dooku has. Lies, deceit, creating mistrust are his ways now."

When it comes to lies, to paraphrase Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic,

"The difference between Jedi and Sith is that Jedi pretend not to enjoy this sort of thing."

The 501st, Dooku, Maul, Anakin (post-knighting into Vader), Palpatine's advisors and certain wormy senators knew he was the Sith Lord. They either didn't care, or knew that to go against him would mean a slow, painful death so they said nothing.

You are all wrong. Darth Bane, Darth Zannah, Darth Tenebrous, Darth Plagueis all knew the plan. It was first created by Darth Bane, it was his idea a thousand years earlier, and it was kept secret through all the Dark Lords of the Sith. The plan was passed down through the years, and Palpatine/Sidious executed it.

That wasn't what they said. They said Kenobi should've listened to Dooku not necessarily follow him.

Maybe because sidious had such lower in the dark side of the force that he could cloud people's judgement something Master Yoda gave credence too, saying how the force was clouded and felt it was the dark side.

I think the book Darth Plagueis says the Jedi had lost their abilities before TPM (perhaps even before Palpatine had been recruited?), Plageuis and Palpatine seemed to think the Force had withdrawn itself from the Jedi in order to let the Sith rise.

I'm not totally happy with that explanation, tbh. The alternative (that Palpatine could cloud the abilities of thousands of Jedi at once, even over light years without seeing them or knowing where they are) isn't great either. It was a dumb contrivance or an orphaned plot point, IMO.

The Emperor toy figure (you could only get by sending of for) in the 80's, was packaged and named as Emperor Palpatine. So personally I've always known.

I think the ones that truly knew were his apprentices and his back door political partners and his closest confidants.
