Ok, even though I have read nearly all of the EU novels, I just don't have a clear idea who or what the Aing Tii monks are! Were they they monks in "Jabba's" palace? Were they strange beigns mentioned in the latest Zahn duology (not the ones the Chiss were fighting though)? I can't place them.

Second, why is everyone so impressed with them? Do you think they will be *that* much of a help with the Yuuzhan Vong?

The Aing Ti monks are a group of force users who, instead of seeing things in black and white, see the force as a full spectrum of colors.

The reason that everyone is so impressed with them is that they are able to just make things appear in front of them at will. They don't levitate it to them, it's just their. Also, they kick the crap out of a pretty large pirate group who was attacking a planet that was ruled by a friend of theirs.

People are just clinging to any hope they can these days that the YV will be easily beaten back so everthing can go back to normal. Thats what the Aing Tii monks really represent.

In "reality" their a relatively small sect of force users that use the force in ways different than Jedi. They live in an out of the way part of the galaxy.

I don't mean to sound so nitpicky, sorry, but I remember that pirate fleet and it wasn't spectacular. The Aing Tii beating those fools doesn't impress me.

Those'd be the Charon. They had their beginning in the Charr-Ontee servant race of the DarkStryder, which lived in the Kathol Rift... but a few of the Charr-Ontee got thrown into Otherspace and went insane, becoming the Charon. They were a death cult that believed that to move on to the next phase of existence, all life in this existence had to be extinguished.

The Aing-Tii are a race of reclusive Force-Users from the Kathol rift. They very rarely leave that area. They do not take kindly to visitors or strangers. They use organic technology, and they use the Force in a manner unlike that of any other Force-Users. They have an instantaneous stardrive, beam weapons that can cut ships in half, and their shields and hulls are so strong that they can ram enemy vessels with no damage to themselves. The Aing-Tii monks them selves are tall mammalian creatures with hard exoskeletons.

    AN AING TII MONK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do they use bionic weapons? Never new that, although their ships sound very familiar to Vong ships (Their starfighters anyway).
They are probably one of the most hi-tech races in the GFFA, and I believe they are the galaxy's last hope.
