Who shot C-3PO on Bespin?

I say Fett. We all know that he was in that room at some point, 'cause he did away with IG-88 in there. The voice also sounded more like him than any Stormtrooper. Stormtroopers may have been in the room at that time as C-3PO said, but the one who shot him was Fett who was accompanying the troopers.

 

If it was Fett, Morrison would have dubbed the voice on the DVDs.

Lucas probably simply forgot to dub that small line, just like he forgot to CGI one of Cloud City's walls when the door to the banquet room opened. As the heroes walk past it there's a whole city scape CGIed onto the wall, but when the Stormtroopers come and stand behind Han, Leia and Chewbacca the wall's back to how it was in the original 1980 version.

 

He was shot by many people at different angles in a grassy knoll. One gunman came from the top floor of a warehouse while others were hidden in a crowd of people from behind the knoll.

You can't prove it was Stormies. Our belief that it was done by people from the grassy knoll is just as valid as the Stormy belief. No one saw him get shot!

I still think it was a Ugnaught that said, "Who are you?" ,though. We already know it was stormtroopers when 3P0 is reactivated.

 

The stormtroopers were just sitting around with the ugnaught. I say the ugnaught said the line and did the crime. They later proved they were pretty intent on destroying Threepio when Chewie tried to rescue him.

okage: The thing is, he only said that there were Stormtroopers in the room. But he didn't ever say who else might have been there with them, let alone who shot him. And seeing that Fett has more than a passing relationship with Stormtroopers, it's pretty reasonable to suggest that he'd feel at home in their company.

As I said before, there is evidence that Fett was indeed in that room at some point, because of the presence of the destroyed IG-88 droid.

Lastly, the voice that we heard was very much like, or exactly that of Fett's as we heard him in the original 1980 version of ESB, not that of a Stormtrooper.

You guys are all wrong. Clearly it was Tagge (from Tagge and Binks Are Dead). It was revenge for him getting those two caught on the Tantive IV.

 

Due to the "Stormtroopers" comment, as well as the unfiltered voice, I always envisioned it that C-3PO had inadvertently walked through a door that should've been locked, on some stormtroopers sitting around playing cards or something of that ilk...helmets off, casually off-duty, then <i>boom</i> in walks somebody who clearly isn't supposed to be in the Stormtrooper Break Room.
