That's definitely my preferred ending. In story terms, I think it's the most satisfying and truest to Jacen's character and his arc. Even better would be if he got 20 years in prison for his crimes, with Ben or other Jedi coming along occasionally and pulling him out to help on some special-case missions. Basically, consequences but with the ability to keep him in the story occasionally as a wise, sorrowful, and still unconventional Jedi.

My preferred ending involves Jacen realizes exactly how wrong he is as the airlock opens and he is instantly (and painfully) explosively decompressed.

Or maybe as he lies dying.. slowly.. from the smoking hole in his chest (from a certain Blastech DL-44 {thats already killed a previous Sith Lord})

In any case, there needs to be a moment of terrible realization as he painfully dies and sinks into the depths of Dark Side Hell.. to be taunted by the Emporer and the souls of the rest of the non-enthroned Sith Lords.. FOREVER.

I'm not sure I buy the prison line, but essentially yeah, Havac. He needs to remain true to his character, and that means never feeling comfortable as part of the Order. Especially after everything going on in Legacy. Kyp's never quite fit right since what he did, but he fit all right before that. Jacen never really has; there's always been a sort of tension between his wanting to be the Best Jedi Possible (tm) and feeling like an outsider (cf. the YJK... yeah, that's right, RK). That will only be more true after this, if he ends up being redeemed. I can almost see him being legally confined with that sort of exception - but on some distant, mostly barren world rather than an actual prison (which wouldn't hold him anyway). A Prison Age is what keeps springing to mind, though somehow I doubt anyone else will have read any of the Myst novels. And that's what I'd prefer to see. He should remain always a bit enigmatic. Unconventional. Repentant and broken. Perhaps by late old age able to come out of retirement as the quiet, brooding, but wise master type. I don't know. Something along those lines.

Rohniss - your hatred for all things Skywalker bloodline Jedi is somewhat amusing. :p

Well, Jacen is a special case, the rest of 'em I just want Dead.. Old Age, broken hip, sickness.. I dont really care. Jacen.. I cant think of anything bad (slow, painful) enough for him.. plus I doubly want to see him die a horrible death, since the chicken escaped one.

Given Jacen's character, somehow a painful realization as he's dying, or as he's right about to die, doesn't fit, for me. He'd have to realize - or have been realizing for a while - how wrong he is, only to be unable to escape death in the end as a consequence of his actions, anyway.

I'd like to see either Leia, Jaina, or Ben. Let the Skywalker 2nd string come into the back and also see Ben can truly do after getting his skills up to badass levels like the Anakins or early Knight/Master Luke.

However, Leia and her Jedi skills have been neglected off and on for many years up until recently. If she is back up to DE level or higher in power/skill/ability etc.., then is well on her way to being another force juggernaut.

I'm not entirely sold on the idea of prison either and I like the hermit angle, but I really like the idea of consequences, solid temporal consequences like Kyp and seemingly any other screwup Jedi never got. That, and the ability for Ben to break him out of prison Howling Mad Murdoch-style.;)

Luke gets all the gold stars for being a great Jedi, thats why I'd love to see Leia cut Jacen the final blow. A mother/son battle would just be cool for me. Think of all the angst she would be going through knowing she gave him life and now must take it away to save people. That's pretty hardcore. It would be super great!

I agree, at least partly because I find it more in keeping with Leia's character than Luke's. Luke's still haunted by the deaths of all the young jedi that died during the Myrkr mission (particularly Anakin's) so I find it very hard to imagine that if he fails to redeem Jacen he'd be able to kill him (though Force-stripping might not be out of the question); whereas Leia has repeatedly been willing to sacrifice her and her family's needs for the good of the galaxy.

Having said that, I'd also be satisfied if Jacen was defeated by Jaina, Tenel Ka or Mara. Luke or Ben are too obvious for my liking.

I've been saying Force-stripping for weeks. It's either that or he's going to die ala Anakin/Vader by coming to a momentous realization and enlightenment to his choices being the source of his, his family's and the galaxy's suffering and making one final, true, sacrifice for the greater good. Perhaps he gets the ole Force immortality from it too.

It's either that, the cliche, or Force-stripping and re-hashing the Qel-Droma plot. His motivations seem somewhat similar to Qel-Droma's for ever flirting with or going to the dark side/Sith.

Or realising he's wrong, but sacrificing himself so the Galaxy is fixed.

If he carries on, he'll be the only enemy of Peace left standing, its worth noting....

Personally, I'd be content if the story interests me.

I'd be over the moon if, using Sith techniques, Jacen does bring peace to the Galaxy, and I can point and laugh. But that won't happen because a) This is Star Wars and b) I'm not that immature :p

I find that an interesting possibility. And one that could happen if it wouldn't send fans through the roof and sales through the floor. :p

My money's on Leia or Jaina, but I'm hoping for Jaina. She is supposed to be the Sword of the Jedi, and things have been building up to a twin battle for a long time. It would be a shame to waste all that perfectly good foreshadowing. :D

Either Jaina or Ben, Jaina due to being the sword of the jedi she seems kinda of week to me and dueling her brother would an intresting scene. But Ben would have the whole similar duel nature of Obi Wan and Anakin. But this time instead of the apprentice being seduced to the dark side its the master.

I think Jaina or Tenel Ka will kill Jacen coz they are the ones he's hurt most.
But it would be totally amazing if Han shot him coz it'd be funny.:D [face_praying]

Something tells me Jacen's gonna have to live, because I'm having trouble believing Del Rey's gonna torture the Solos like that.

I want to see a really epic ending to Jacen. Hopefully Jacen's demise will go something like the following:

*Jacen steps down a landing ramp*

Han: "Where do you think you're going, kid?"

Jacen: "Out of my way. She's mine."

Han: "She never was yours. And she never will be."

    *Jacen ignites lightsaber*

Jacen: "Do not force me to do this, old man."

Han: "Whatever you do is on you. It's about time you started taking responsibility for your actions. And I'm not your old man. My son died a long time ago."

*Jacen grins wryly, perhaps even sadly*

    Jacen: "On Myrkr..."

*Silence, save for the hum of Jacen's saber*

    Jacen: "Out of my way."

*Jacen Force pushes Han off to the side. He turns toward the chamber doors, behind which contain the person he cares most about.*

Jacen: "Allana...come out of there. Come to your father."

    *Opens door*

    *Snap-hiss of a purple blade*

Jaina: "Expecting someone else, oh twisted one? It ends now."

Jacen: "Where have you taken her, Jaina?"

Jaina: "Far away. Where you will never reach her."

Jacen: "You do know what this means."

    *Raises lightsaber*

Jaina: "Yes. And I will do what I must."

    *Jacen grins*

Jacen: "You always were committed to your duties, sister."

Jaina: "I am not your sister."

Jacen: "Right. You're the Sword of the Jedi. I wonder what would Anakin say right now?"

    *Tears trickle down Jaina's cheek.*

Jaina: "That it should have been you, Jacen. That it should have been you..."

    *Cue Battle of the Heroes*

    That is why you fail.

Solo-torture is a sport these days. Not that I like it, but Del Rey has shown no reservation in the past about making Han and Leia's live hell.
