Why are hot girls so stuck up and snobby?

I think it all depends on the individual, some hot chicks are snobby and some hot chicks are nice just as some hot guys are snobby and some hot guys are nice.

 

You're generalizing. Sure, there are some hot girls who are stuck up and snobby. But there are an equal amount of plain girls who are unfriendly and self centered. We just don't notice because, well, we don't care. While I'm sure some "hot" girls can have off putting personalities, I've found if you treat one as an individual, and not focuse entirely on her looks (she has eyes to stare at, too). I'm not the best looking guy in the world, but I recently met a gorgeous blonde woman who looks like Bridget Bardot (no kidding) and we've been hitting it off quite well. the key: I forced myself to think of her as an individual, with interests (movies for both of us, thankfully), activities (skiing, thankfully), and a sense of humor. Its working out quite well.

 

There are a lot of very attractive (what you would call "hot") women and young women who are actually very down-to-earth and compassionate. On the same token, you will have those who are not necessarily what some societies would consider the standard of attractiveness and beauty, but are equally easy to get along with, have pleasant personalities, etc.

Both types of women can also be snobbish, possessive, mean-spirited, manipulative, "stuck-up," and what I would call "needy" or "high maintinance." It varies from woman to woman ... the same things can be said about guys who are "handsome" or "good looking."

 

Every attractive woman I've known has been very nice, in my experience.
I do have one attractive friend who intentionally acts snobby, but she only does it towards me, and she does it because of the stereotype this thread is based around. It's all an act, and she and I both know it.

My observations, from some personal experience:

Attractive females come in all shapes, sizes and varieties. However, those who are accepted by the sweaty, greasy masses as being "hot" are often so annoyed by one guy after another trying to score a piece that they become defensive.

Can you blame them?

So they set up barriers to protect themselves. Sometimes, they act like someone they aren't. Guys do this too. We all struggle to reach other people while still keeping our defenses up.

Girls act like snobs - so do guys. Guys act like total idiots - so do girls.

And it is that very acting like idiots that we males do that cause girls to raise their defenses. It is their being defensive, or "snobbish," if you prefer, that leads us to act like idiots.

Therefore, it is an endless, destructive cycle that cannot be broken, except for on a case-by-case basis. No one is going to be able to change every man in in the world - excpet perhaps by means of a global castration program. No one is going to be able to change every woman in the world - because they won't let us.



Having been reasonable thus far, I am reminded of a scene from a movie:

"How do you understand women so well?"
"It's simple. I take a man, and then I take away reason and logic."

 

Physical beauty's only skin deep, lad. It's what's on the inside that counts, and I'm not talking about the squicky, gooey bits. Personality is what counts, not physical beauty.

 

Granted inner beauty is great, and beauty is only skin deep.

But ugly goes all the way to the bone.

By stuck up I meant that they act like they are God's gift to men. They are used to having every guy buy them things, ask them out, and things like that.

If only that were true for me...

Ooh, this brings up a good point: How in the bloody heck are we supposed to know what to buy you ladies unless you tell us?

Let's face it, we men are blockheads (generally speaking). We don't pick up on hints very well.

 

What do us girls buy guys?! ?

Sure, a guy can get a girl flowers, stuffed animals, chocolates, cute little things, etc., etc., but what do we get guys?!

Hmm. Good question, COSLeia. I think it depends on the guy.

Most guys - I have noticed - end up working on some sort of construction, automotive or home maintenance project at least once a month, unless it happens to be their job, in which case, it's daily. Therefore, tools are always good. I'm in the market for a small air compressor myself.



Other than that, it depends. Is he a Rennie? A new tunic, boots, dagger, sword, chain mail, etc. Is he a Star Wars geek? Find some sort of obscure toy or prop or get him some Jedi robes. Does he have a favorite sports team? Is he a NASCAR *shudder* fan? Does he follow sumo wrestling?

. . . uh, forget that last one . . .

If they do, what's the harm in it? Unless of course, a girl should never think she's "hot" unless she's the standard bimbo "hot"...in which case, that says more about some guys and their shallowness.

 

I actually have this huge crush on a short girl (like 5') who is 'flat' as some might say, and wears no make-up ever.

Assuming you mean football players: Well, in most cases, they eat more than average during the season, because they are usually hige, and use a lot of energy, then on the off season, they can't brake the habit, and become fat, because they don't burn it each day.

It happened to my great-uncle.

Nah, you're probably right. The girls that believe they're hot are the ones he's talking about anyway.

 

The hot girls in high school and the first couple of years of college are the ones that end up showing their age VERY early in life, then spend the rest of their days trying to retain any good looks they had. The plain girls in high school are the ones that become knockouts in college, and age much more gracefully through out the years.

I know what I'm talking about because I just went to my high school's 10 year reunion. Every hot girl from high school looked like they were in their mid 30's. All the plain girls looked our age (27/28 yrs old) or younger, and were all much hotter in comparison. It was hysterical to see all the hot girls from high school trying to deal with no longer being the best looking, because they just looked too old for their age.

 

The plain girls in high school are the ones that become knockouts in college, and age much more gracefully through out the years.

Not always, some of us stay plain as the years go by...but I do look younger than my years...although those bloody frown lines are starting to show around my mouth.
