Why didn't Palpatine destroy the Jedi Temple?

    Was the temple kept off limits? And if it was wouldn't people want to know why?

    I think his priorities were with Anakin at that time. Not to mention he did order the attack. So order 66 was put forth by him therefore directly linking him with the attack on the temple.

    I've always assumed it was for bragging rights of some sort. Palpatine strikes me as that kind of person. It could've also served as a symbol/warning for what would happen to anyone else(like the Senators who didn't sign the Petition of the 2000) who tried to step out of line.

    Palpatine wanted space to put a gigantic big-screen television. His red-colored office and the office beneath the Senate amphitheatre were just too small. The Temple had a lot of open space, with plenty of room for the cool entertainment center he wanted to build.
