I doubt anybody would know the exact date for that question but I'm sure it was sometime early in our modern history.

Don't worry, all regional area's have their unique sayings. For example, I have lived in Darwin for about 6 months now, moved from Melbourne.

Everyone up here says "True!" just about after every sentence.

The funniest regional sayings that I have heard were from my cousins in SA when I was growing up.

Apparently people in SA pronounce the kids toy Lego as "Laygo"! ;)

Now that is funny, in the country of its birth Lego is still pronounced Lego... Makes you wonder why those in SA think it otherwise?

Umm...I've been a Queenslander all my life and I rarely if ever say 'ay' after a sentence. Is this a problem?

Not if you're a Southern Queenslander. Us Northerners are a little more free with the 'eh'.

I've noticed that southerners say 'ay' but northerners say 'eh'.

See, now look at all these 'ay's. I've never encountered it prior to now.

It's all eh, eh, eh for me, eh?
