Why does so much of the Fandom think so poorly of Etain?

On a general basis, I'd have to agree with this, but Etain has been shown the be a below-average Jedi by the fact that she believed if she failed the Qiilura mission she was going to find herself hoeing a row for the rest of her life shows that. I got the impression this was one of her first major missions, if not THE first, and after her master was killed, I guarantee it was first time out on her own. So, while your quote is exactly right that the average Jedi is out and about, Etain's not your average Jedi...

Come to think of it, was she a knight in Hard Contact or was she a Padawan? I seem to recall something about that being considered her trial at the end of the book, but I'd have to re-read to be sure (and I'm currently in the midst of the Wheel of Time series).

Just as a minor note, Jusik's been running around is Mandalorian gear since about the mid-point of Triple Zero, including most, if not all, of True Colors

And we already know that he survives Order 66 and hides out on Mandalore afterwards.

So, thank you Jusik, for all your help in the Rebellion and against the Sith plus refounding the Jedi Knighthood.

Because, clearly, you did so much good for the world where you are.

I hope we will get his excuses in Revelation, but the existence of the Order 66 novel must have made it less likely...

Maybe people think poorly of her because of her name:

    Etain Tur-Mukan.

How so? I thought we heard about Jaing, Mird and Etain's kid but not necessarily anyone else?

Again, which world? Mandalore, perhaps? If so, who's to say that he wasn't one of Fenn's men in the fight against the Empire? As for refounding the Jedi, why should he care? Where comes this bizarre idea that every Force-using being in the galaxy is obligated to submit himself to the usage of the Jedi Order?

Has it not ocurred to you, in your rush to self-righteousness, that you might be acting a bit prematurely, Charles? o_O

He's apparently been calling himself Gotab and passing himself off as a Kiffar-born Mando to explain his Force-use.

Uhh, because the Jedi is the servants of Good and Justice in the world.

    Anything else is uncivilized.

I'm guessing that it might have something to do with her not being that pretty...[face_thinking]

Despite how she looks, I still think that she's very cool & I really hope that that she dies of old age & gets to be a mother to her son.

Yes, that's right. It's all about her being plain, not because she's a weak and insipid character. [face_plain]

Compare: Scout, by Sean Stewart. There's a non-gorgeous female Jedi who's not a pain in the backside to read about.

I'm interested, but in which book/comic/whatever does this appear? I looked carefully in Sacrifice(twice) but don't remember seeing him. What am I missing?

Must not have looked very carefully, as it's a major plot point. Remember when the "Kiffar" comes and uses his powers on the necklace?

So it eludes to him being Jusik? Could be I guess, I'll have to check it out again. I don't remeber a specific clue to that Kiffars identity is that of Jusik, but if the shoe fits.......

Oh, no, that's just Karen Traviss confirming the fact.

Given that Jusik is neither Kiffar and not a psychometrist that I am aware of... how is this confirmed? I'm not ruling it out, I'm just really confused how this got passed around...

He's pretending to be Kiffar (doesn't Boba make note of his lack of tattoos?) and psychometry isn't something Jedi are incapable of, it just happens to be a Force talent inherent to many Kiffar.

So your saying Karen said it was meant to be Jusik? In an interveiw or an article or something? I think it would be neat if it is for sure Jusik, where did she say it was?

Someone posted the quote somewhere on the forum, but apparently it's in True Colors, also.
