Yoda didn't use the pillar like a baseball bat to wack Dooku's ship and prevent his escape??

Not that physics ever really matter in Star Wars, but just because the tower is off the ground doesn't mean it doesn't have mass. It takes energy to move mass in 3-space. For the non-Dilbert - that means Yoda would have to exert more effort to swing it and there would be the matter of acceleration.

But again, when did physics ever hold true . . .

Because Yoda is in ESB. It means he can't die. Plus Dooku's objective was to escape at that point.

Attack is harming a living being,Dooku's ship The Solar Sailor is not alive there it cannot be attacked, Yoda force pushing the pillar into Dooku's ship is not harmfull to anyone, and it wouldnt have done much dammage to the ship either unless it destroyed the cockpit windows.

Because nobody wants to watch Yoda die and he is in the OT.

    On a related note:

When Yoda was lifting the piller off of Obi-Wan and Anakin, did anybody hear the music playing at that time? It was the same melody that was playing when Yoda lifts the X-wing out of the swamp in ESB. I thought that was really interesting!

The whole thing seems a bit strange to me. It at first appears like Dooku is waiting for Ani & Obi and after they fight he tries to finish Obi, when Ani saves him. But Dooku could easily have killed Ani after cutting off his arm but instead Force-pushes him onto the floor. Then he fights Yoda, realizes he can't win and just wants to escape, and runs. It seems like he doesn't want to kill them, like that's not his objective, but then why wait for them in the hangar and why try to kill Obi? Maybe he wanted to kill Obi but not Anikan for some reason...

Another thought I just had is maybe he was plotting against Palpy to become the Sith Master and had felt the Dark Side in Ani & thought he'd make a good apprentice. Dooku does, after all, tell Obi about Sidious even though he had no good reason to.

Knowledge and Defense, never for attack. Attack equals smashing a pillar into a ship. Thank you.

<rolls eyes> THAT'S why his Jedi Order got its arse whooped.

Besides, from a certain POV destroying Dooku's ship would defend future victims of his war. Remember? "If escape Dooku does, rally more systems to his cause, he will." Yoda could have used the Force or the pillar to at least stop the ship, while keeping Dooku alive.
