if you look at pics of a young Mark Hamill's his hair color is very similar to Hayden Christensen. Doesn't look that far off to me in terms of color. Also little Anni had blonde hair ...yipppeeeee.....
Nah, it's because the word comes from the French, in which an "e" added to the end of an adjective makes it feminine.
Out-of-Universe: Because Mark Hamill has blond/brown hair. If he had red hair, then Luke would've had red hair. In-Universe: Genetics. If my poor, POOR understanding of genetics serves me correctly, the Blonde Hair Gene is a recessive gene, which means one or both parents must carry it. Anakin and/or Padme likely had this gene (in Anakin's, that gene was 'on' because he had blonde hair when he was a child.) So when he and Padme did the...hokey-poke if you get my drift, it's highly possible Anakin passed that along to the offspring. Luke inherited this gene and it, too, was switched to 'on'. Leia? Well, its possible she didn't get this gene, but rather the Brown Hair Gene from her mother, hence her brown hair. Yet she herself would be the carrier of the Blonde Hair Gene. Now, as to why Kylo has black hair? Well, we must look to Han Solo and Shmi. Genetics can go farther than just the parents. He may have gotten that from Shmi's hair, or maybe the Brown and Brown Genes he got from Leia and Han made him get black hair? Hope I got that right.
Actually, Tantoonie probably has a lot to do with it. Anakin has blonde hair, but it darkened over time. This happens mostly due to lack of sunlight while a lot sunlight can reverse this. So the best answer I can think of is that spending many more years on Tanttonie bleached Luke's hair. However, it is more of a dirty blonde. My brother and I have pretty much the same thing going on. My hair looks brown (like Ankian's) while my brother has hair more similar to Luke's. Actually, black hair (especially hair as dark as Kylo's) is dominant. That means if black hair was to be passed down the Solo or Skywalker line each member would need to have it. Shmi has a black-brown, not Kylo's shade. That means that Kylo had dyed his hair, or a crazy theory I made.
Well, Anakin when was a child was blond. Some kids can have light hair which can become darker during growing up. I think it happened in this way for young Anakin too.
When I was born I was blonde haired &blue eyed. I looked Scandinavian. But when I turned 3 my eyes turned hazel. When I was 5 my hair turned a dark brown. Now I look ugly.
Because Lucas had been wavering between a dark haired looking han-solo outfit looking Luke and a female Luke with short blonde hair in 1975. Also a long hair blonde Leia.
My fiance has white hair when he was younger. And I do mean white. But as he got older it grew to a sandy-blonde. It's very common for a child's hair to darken or lighten as they age.
I was about to say that Anakin had blonde hair when he was a kid but it looks like most people have already pointed that out.
I love this thread. Speaking of resemblance, I honestly think Anakin and Leia (Hayden and Carrie) have the most resemblance. Their eyes kinda go down on the sides (not in a bad way), they have those cute noses, similar full bottom lips, even something about their cheeks seems similar to me. And Padme and Luke seem to have "softer" features in a way, although I don't see as much resemblance between the two. So I think Leia got mommy's coloring and height, but daddy's features and bold personality. Luke got dad's coloring (but lighter and brighter) and mom's height and sweet/strong personality.
LOL at the people who are saying that Luke is blond because Anakin is blond. I agree that in TPM and AOTC he was blond, but in ROTS he isn't any more blond than Padme is. I consider his hair color to be light brown although it can be quite difficult to distinguish different hair colors. A lot of people also think that I have black hair but mine is actually dark brown. However, I think that Anakin's hair is a bit darker than Luke's is.
Mark Hamill has some Swedish ancestry, interestingly enough. Sweden has a lot of blond and blue-eyed people (like the rest of Scandinavia).
