Why the Fathiers are the best thing about Star Wars

this thread is to discuss why the Fathiers were the best creatures ever introduced to Cinema.

They are just so majestic. The CGI on them is also one for the ages and shall be in my memory after every viewing of the movie.

 

Fathiers finally getting their dues.

 

Take the fun of the Endor speeders scene combine it with some Jurassic park undertones and a little bit of phantom menace pod racing with a splash of ET, the Neverending Story and some Miyazaki anime moments and you still don’t come close to doing the Fathiers Justice because you’re also missing the Free Willy / Charlotte’s Web component.

Hugely underrated moment and a scene that the next generation of kid Star Wars fans will love more than the older ones. Just like Ewoks or anything else that had a generational divide.

 

The fathiers are really neat, the porgs are cute, but the crystal snow fox things are the best.

 

They're indestructible! I mean come on. Whats not to love? I heard they also eat force sensitive children too. Why do 6ou think those little brats open the gates so fast!

 

They climb cliffs with hooves. Truly an inspiration to all livestock trapped by a small hole in the ground covered with a grate!

 

Spiderhooves, spiderhooves, do whatever spiderhooves do.

Why was their scene only 30 minutes? I never wanted their scenes to end!

 

I’ve started a crowdsourcing campaign to finish the pre-vis on the deleted extended scene so that we can see it all in its glory.

The moment I promised a Twi’lek would be added to the bathhouse scene donations Tripled.

 

But can you milk a fathier?

 

My sister loved the 'free-the-fathiers' moment. I'm just glad I've found a way to get her into Star Wars.

And yes, those majestic creatures are highly underrated...I've always been horse-crazy, so this is a way to combine my two great loves!

Ooh, here's a question...if you had a fathier, what would you name it? Mine would be named Alder, in memory of Princess Leia's planet.

 

The scene where Vader reveales to Luke that he's really his Fathier was the most beautiful scene committed to film.
