PT Why the hate for Obi-Wan's hair in AOTC???

The only times I think it truly looks "bad," in my opinion, are the pickup shots in which it is so obviously a wig. It just doesn't move naturally like it did when it was his real hair, and it appears to be just a slight shade off colour

 

^This. I like Obi-Wan's hair in everything, including AoTC (it gives him a sort of swashbuckling look too.)

 

Never thought about this. I have to say that ROTS Obi hair would probably be my fovourite.
Never disliked it in Clones and never realized their was any hate for it.

 

His hair was gorgeous in AOTC!

 

I love his hair - it's that awful wig I can't stand.

 

What's interesting is that Obi-Wan has something of a conservative, cropped look in TPM: the look of a "padawan" learner. In AOTC, he has branched out with his own style, adopting both a bearded look, and long locks. It's like he's trying to break away from the "green" persona he had in the preceding movie. And there's added warmth but still a strong streak of aloofness to Obi-Wan in AOTC, even a bossiness owed to his tutelage of Anakin: a young and difficult pupil. In ROTS, Obi-Wan's hair is shorter, the beard more sculpted, and he seems to have gone for a blend of his former looks. To complete the picture, there is greying at the temples. Obi-Wan is a much more wisened version of his earlier self in ROTS, and I can't help but consider his merged appearance as a hint of that synthesis: a comfort he has found within. He's kinder to Anakin, easier-going, more ready with compliments, and a genuinely impressive Jedi. The general appearance and demeanour of Obi-Wan in each of the movies -- as with the other principals -- is really well-managed, in my opinion.

 

Mmm yeah, I wouldn't say I "hate" Obi-Wan's hairstyle in AOTC...at worst I guess it's kinda meh, but it does look much better in ROTS.

 

Put me down as being the biggest fan of Obi-Wan's ROTS hair.

And yeah, that's definitely not a true mullet that Obi-Wan's sporting. It's in the neckwarming family, but not a true mullet.

I never had any issues with any of Obi Wan's hair styles.

 

II was the best.

 

Nope, really dislike the AoTC hair. Really like the ROTS hair. But I don't obsess over it.

 

I personally like the short hair and goatee in ROTS, but that's not to say I don't love his AOTC hair. I like ROTS the best because he looks like the most like Obi Wan in ANH there, and he looks matured and like the Jedi Master/ General he is supposed to be.

But I do love AOTC's hair. It connects well with Anakin's in ROTS to show he's trying to imitate his master. It's also young Obi Wan's rock and roll rebellion phase.

 

Obi-Wan really knows how to pull off a mullet.

 

I like all of his hairstyles throughout the Prequels. Each one seemed tied to where his character was at the moment.

 

I preferred his shorter hair in III.

 

I don't think that was a goatee....

I don't recall anyone hating Obi-Wan's hair. They were too focused on hating the romance sequences between Anakin and Padme, which I side with completely.

 

The ROTS look is the best. It really is believable that he becomes the Obi-Wan we know in the original trilogy.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Obi-Wan's ROTS look. More Jedi-y and less Jesus-y.
