It reminds me of when football players slaps their helmets, or hit them against each other, or when people smack their own faces (only of course much more disturbed/psychotic). Basically a way to "psych themselves up."

I cant imagine if we had to consider all the Jedi limbs lost in the Jedi Genocide of ROTS....like, that would be a drinking game that would literally kill a person lmao.

Darth Maul being bisected in TPM should count, though it isn't a case of limbs (it's worse). Since you mentioned Vader attempting to decapitate Obi Wan in ANH (although Obi Wan *poofs* before we see a head rolling away), you should also include that Count Dooku was actually beheaded in RotS, and Jango Fett also was in AotC.

Similar to Jacen Solo; the pain made him stronger.

I still think Snoke is a Sith(He is Plagueis after all.;)) Once Kylo has his full training he will be a Sith as well. In fact, I am calling it now; Episode VIII will called Return of the Sith. :p

I truly think Kylo is a bit of a masochist. He enjoys the pain because it brings Kylo to the darker side despite the light is calling to him.

The pain kept him from passing out and kept him angry, which he draws power from.

I just wonder why he didn't put a bandage on it. Surely the Starkiller base had a first aid kit? But then I realize I'm overthinking it.

It was just a cool moment from a film filled with cool moments that don't necessarily have some huge hidden meaning

When he had her in the bondage chair. Something like: "So lonely. I see an ocean... with an island.'. And then she proceeded to show him who really wore the force pants in the family.

I certainly think at face-value it can be read as him psyching himself up for the fight by focusing more on that pain. Kylo is a very complex and emotional character, and I think it is very interesting that he appears to remain just as emotionally-driven even after having killed Han.

Another way this could be read--and this is actually the way I read it when watching the movie--is that he feels physical and emotional pain over *what he has just done* and he is trying to beat that pain out of himself. To Kylo, this is a pain that should *not* exist, because killing his father should have made him stronger, but perhaps that is not the case here. I just read it that way because it is possible to feel so much pain emotionally that your heart actually physically *hurts*.
