I remember playing the Revenge of the Sith Video Game and it shows a deleted scene from during the begining of the duel where Count Dooku says "Do not assume that just because there are two of you that you have the advantage." Dooku tells Obi-Wan and Anakin this after Obi-Wan says that he will not get away, considering how Dooku is able to kick Anakin into the wall and then Force choke and throw Obi-Wan onto the floor below and knock him out before collapsing the balcony onto him i think that this statement from Dooku has a certain irony to it, that Dooku saying this in the movie and then doing this would have made Count Dooky look even more dangerous and make Anakin's defeat of him look even greater.

And why was Dooku's line before he was about to die removed? the screenplay had a line where after Palpatine said "Kill him, kill him now." and then Dooku says "What? But you promised me Amnesty." and then Palpatine responds "I lied.", i think that this would have been better if it was left in the movie because it shows Palpatine as being a liar and makes Anakin's trust in him look foolish to even the viewer that knows nothing of Palpatine being a villian or Darth Sidious yet.

And its pretty pathetic when George Lucas allows an actor working for him to say that he doesnt think that a line would look good on screen and that it shouldnt be included, Christopher Lee telling Lucas that he didnt think that Count Dooku should have begged was just foolish, I would have told Lee to just say his line and quit whining about it if i was Lucas, giving him in to him was stupid and hurt the death of Dooku, it makes Dooku seem less like a villian because he was betrayed and lied to by his supposed partner Palpatine, this also establishes that you cannot trust a Sith Lord even if you are a Sith Lord too.

Christopher Lee is a well respected actor who is given a lot of deference because of his long career. GL has said that Lee has earned the respect. I've always noticed that GL goes out of the way to accomadate his actors, particularly stars, that carry a lot of weight. Look at SLJ getting his purple saber and cool death scene. Harrison Ford is another example in the Indiana movies. Regardless, I think the Dooku death scene was fine. The look of Dooku says it all, and I do agree begging for amnesty would not fit the way Dooku elegantly carried himslef in the 2 films and would be out of character.

As to the other scene, I agree that the scene is choppy. It is my opinion that alot of the scenes get over edited. I recall that GL stating he had to cut the time of the film and many scenes do seem rushed.

Dooku was too much the gentleman to be a Sith. I think his inclusion in the saga as a fallen Jedi who turned Sith before Anakin was a 'grievous' mistake. It takes away from the impact of Anakin's fall. That editorial comment aside . . .

I think that Dooku begging would be most lame. It would be like Palpatine or Vader begging -- perish the thought. Since Dooku is unfortunately a Sith in the PT, then he must behave like a Sith -- too arrogant to beg, too self-confident to think he will die

As for the "Do not assume that just because there are two of you that you have the advantage" line, I think that line might have worked, but in a bit of a different way than SaberSlash proposes. It could have served as a foreshadowing of the fate of the Sith, of which there are only two -- master and apprentice.

Once the Jedi are defeated and the 'two' Sith are in control, they become entrenched in positions of supreme galactic power. Yet they should not let their guard down and assume any decided advantage, lest they suffer a fate similar to that of the arrogant Jedi order that Anakin betrayed and Palpatine ultimately deceived and (almost) totally destroyed.

When I saw ROTS at the Cinema the original, "Do not assume that..." was still there.

Thank goodness! I assumed that I had imagined it.

I have mixed thoughts about the line. I like it, but it might make Dooku look a little insecure.

I would have to see it again.
