As I get older I seem to get more sentimental while watching films with strong emotional scenes. Sometimes, I get misty-eyed. Nothing wrong with that.
I expect ROTS to be a very intense, emotional film.

Me? Just from listening to the end track alone I was crying like a little girl with a skinned knee. Watching Ewan McGregor holding baby Luke made me tear up in the worst way. Can't help it! I have an emotional investment in all of these characters.

I think I may get choked up in this one... I did at the end of LOTR ROTK too. But I won't cry, I highly doubt it. The last time I cried publically in a movie was in the Passion of the Christ, and my girlfriend was with me, and she actually liked the fact that I was "sensative".

"Will you feel ashamed if you cry while watching ROTS?"

    No.

And I think I already know which scene is going to make me cry. The quiet scene involving Anakin as he stands alone, after the Separatist slaughter, looking out into the Mustafar horizon, contemplating what he has just done....and then the tears start to come down his face. That's going to get me choked up, right there.

I actually teared up at the end of Kingdom Hearts when Mickey Mouse shows up with his keyblade and closes the door to darkness, but thanked Donald and Goofy.

    Am I weird???

    Please discuss.

Lol... I dunno. I haven't seen it, but that is a little odd to cry while watching Mickey Mouse. Oh well, I've cried in weird places in movies too I guess.

I'll just wear a storm-trooper helmet, that way no one can see me cry inside it.

That has to be in the running for saddest statement ever on 3SA....

For me it' not about machismo, it's something...intangible... I don't think I'm capable of actually crying aloud because of a movie, but I have no problem getting "misty-eyed" for certain scenes.

That reminds me of the lesson I learned watching Gibson's "The Passion of Christ": Never, EVER, bring loud snacks with you to that film. I felt like a complete **** when I'm in a theatre full of people bawling their eyes out and me in the middle of it all with the....*CRUNCH* *CRUNCH* *CRUNCH* ....Oops.

Oh man...when Anakin Foce-chokes Padme, Obi-Wan yells "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!", and when Padme says "Theres. Still. Good in him." then dies, I know I'll be bawling...

I read one chapter of the novel and i cried from that
so I'm sure the film will be a tearjerker especially
    as Padmé is dying.

Yeah that will get me right there. I think the only time I cried hard was in Star Trek II-The Wrath of Khan. When Spock's body shot out into space and landed on his home planet. The sun was beaming through the clouds. I could not hold back the tears and I tried so hard to.

I just want to say, that if no one EVER cried during a movie must be a souless bastard !

    Why you may ask?

Well i cried like a girl in:
    -Forrest gump
    -Philadelphia
    -Schindler's list

    Got moisty in:

-Armageddon: ( i don't like bay's movies, but this one and the rock, were at least nicely done - well, if you don't think in a scientific kind of way!!)
To watch Bruce willis (the engine of the movie) die for the fir-st time in a strong role was intense....

    - ROTK -
    - Matrix Revolutions
    -life aquatic with doctor...

well those are the ones that i remember!

ps: Laughed my ass off in titanic... The movie is a piece of ****!! No emotional bond...

I read the book, and the only part that had me a little choked up was where Obi Wan was screaming at Anakin, or Vader at that time, after he sliced his limbs off.... the passion and sadness in Obi Wan is what got me.....someone mentioned the end of Return of The King "bowing to the hobbits" etc.... As I have read the books a number of times, seeing this on screen had me in all sorts.....

Oh, so I'm a souless something I'm not gonna say? [face_plain]

Some people just can't cry during movies. I've developed an emotional bond with the dudes and dudettes from SW and LOTR, but I never cried or got misty-eyed. Only sad when they were sad and happy when they were happy. The closest I ever got was when Mordor collapsed in ROTK, though.

I'm man enough to admit that I misted up a little bit during McCallum's ROTS spectacular at C-3 last weekend.

I couldn't help it. This is the last one...and what I saw hit me like a ton of bricks.

I'm glad it was dark because the friend I came with would have teased me for the whole rest of the weekend and for the whole 700+ mile drive home.

Well, now I just have to put up with the numbskulls in this thread giving me crap about it then.

I didn't say that....or did someone else? Either way....I can understand your point. The only reason I got misty eyed, was because of the passion I have for LOTR & SW. Granted you may have that same passion, however there are certain moments in movies that remind me of some of my own life experiences(metaphorically!) and the connection is was throws me. LOTR & SW are the only movies I get misty eyed over.

No, it wasn't you. I have a passion for stories, but I doubt I will ever tear up or cry during one. I've actually tried and it didn't work. I just can't do it. I've seen Titanic, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Cold Mountain. I get involved with the characters, but I can't cry over them. I can relate to what you're saying though.

I will definitely cry. ANH came out the year my parents divorced and Star Wars helped me through a very difficult childhood. I am sure I will feel a sense of loss when the movie is over. It's like saying goodbye to a dear friend. I will feel sadness over the finality of Anakin's turn. I remember watching AOTC and actually wishing Anakin wouldn't turn. Silly perhaps...
